Yes, I have wine with dinner and he eats with us. and DH and I will have a cocktail/beer/wine at night while he's still up. we don't get buzzed or drunk but he sees us drink for sure.
Absolutely! Although I do have a strange hang up that I don't like to pour my first drink until my husband gets home.
Not strange at all!
I know that some people are comfortable having a drink or two while they are the only adult home and their kid is awake. But others aren't. I prefer not to drink when I am the only adult present (I don't ever want to not have a clear head when needed in an emergency) but I can also respect that one beer might affect my judgment more than it would someone else's.
I vividly remember my dad coming home and pouring two Coors Lites over ice in a giant cup when I was a kid.
Who drinks beer on ice?
Who drinks Coors Lite?
Awesome.
My dad worked nights and used to take me to the bar with him around lunchtime for his dinner a few times a week. He would drink Old Style and get a sandwich and watch sports and I would eat peanuts and maraschino cherries and play with pool balls.
I was also encouraged to leave a beer for Santa in lieu of milk every year.
I definitely see you no problem with enjoying 1 or 2 drinks around my kid, now or when he's older. I'm pretty quick to get a buzz though so I don't drink at all, when I'm the primary caregiver. I would also not get drunk around my (or really any) kids

Yes, but not to excess. I figure that normalizing responsible adult drinking is a good thing. I don't see the point in making it secret or taboo and only making kids more interested in it when they do encounter alcohol.
