I have drugstore.com dollars to use. I actually stocked up on quite a few things last week as I had a 20% off coupon code to use, so there's nothing I really need. We also just went to Costco a few days ago, so we are really all set on our own items for a long time.
Maybe I should purchase a few things for the baby? We have one bottle of Aveeno baby wash, one thing of Aveeno baby lotion, a box of wipes I ordered from Amazon, and we plan to cloth diaper. (They only have GDiapers, so I can't buy CD supplies, ugh.)
Any suggestions on what I should buy for the baby with my drugstore "dollars"? It's basically store credit that expires in a couple weeks. If i don't use it now, chances are I will forget about it.
We use burt's bees baby wash/shampoo (mainly because it smells amazing) and aquaphor. I think aquaphor is a pretty big necessity because you can use it for so many things. Also thinks like nasal spray.

Just out of curisosity since I don't use it, what all can aquaphor be used for?
If you plan on BF, get you some lansinoh nipple cream stat. And use it after every feeding the first few weeks. Trust me.

I have a travel sized thing of Aquaphor, but it seems like a really popular item. Should I start out with my travel sized one, or just buy a full sized tube assuming it will get used?
Can you also explain how the saline nasal sprays work for babies? Does it help their nose to drain if they're stuffed?
I loved everything burt's bees- the baby wash, the apricot oil, the diaper paste, the bubble bath (when DD was older). I also like Jason brand hair conditioner for kids, but I guess I didn't start using that until DD's hair was long enough to get tangled (age 2ish?).
nasal spray breaks up boogies and helps clear them up. If you don't have a nosefrida and they sell them, get it. best sucker ever. aquaphor is an awesome lotion because it doesn't have any fragrances or stuff - it's basically petroleum jelly. In CO thick lotion is a must so we use daily. It helps with chapped cheeks, diaper rash, eczema, etc.
Get the $20 vat of aquaphor. I promise you'll use it. DD has sensitive skin and when she's dry in the winter I cover her in it head to toe. It great for diaper rash (with a liner or disposables, not cloth safe).
DD had a reaction to Burt Bees and aveeno brands.. No reaction to aquaphor's baby wash, every baby is so different.
We have a NoseFrida. My husband saw it on Amazon a while back, and thought it was gross, so I bought one and put it in his Christmas stocking as a joke, lol.
I'll get the nose spray! Thanks for the suggestion!
Anyone know what diaper rash creams, etc., can be used with CDs and a liner?
I LOVE [url=http://www.drugstore.com/earth-mama-angel-baby-angel-baby-bottom-balm/qxp143080?catid=182484Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm.[/url] It's cd safe. Wouldn't hurt to order a few of them. We currently have 4 jars. (daycare, 1st floor, 2nd floor & 1 backup stock)
You could also get EMAB Nipple Butterif you plan to BF. You don't have to wipe off before nursing. I also use this on M's hands if they're really dry/chapped because it's fine if he ends up putting them in his mouth before it fully absorbs.

M was starting to get chapped cheeks and was breaking out on his forehead. So every morning and night he gets aquaphor on his forehead, cheeks and chin. Worked like a charm.
Also we do use a little brush and comb on Ds's hair especially when he had cradle cap. The cheap ones work just fine for the little hair he has.
If you are getting DS circ'ed, you may want some petroleum jelly so that his diaper doesn't stick to his penis. Not sure if that is cloth safe or if you plan to do disposables for a newborn.
Also - what about teething gel? Good to have on hand, or not really needed?
We have Hylands gel & tablets on hand.
If you're planning to circ you could get a package of 2x2 gauze pads & a tube of vaseline. The hospital will give you some you might use it all up quickly like we did. (ETA: this wouldn't be cd safe)
Do you already have the NoseFrida?
For saline we use the Ocean brand but I'm sure any brand will work. It's helps loosen the dried boogers & also keeps the nasal passages from getting too dry.
We use the California Baby body wash, the Earth Mama Angel Baby diaper cream when she has a rash (thanx to Ashley's rec!), and we brush her hair every day -- she has a lot of it
If you're planning on nursing, maybe some vitamin d drops? I'm trying to think of things that are much cheaper/have a better selection online. We used the Carlson for Kids brand since it's a single drop.
ditto earth mama angel baby diaper rash stuff. I also have Grandma El's and while it smells good, it doesn't work as well as the EMAB stuff.
saline drops are a good idea, I love the Burts Bees stuff but we only use it on G's hair now since she has eczema and we are using special stuff on her body (cetaphil and aveeno)
