Tomorrow we are driving to Columbia for the Mizzou basketball game with friends. I'm super excited, I haven't seen them since we were still in the hospital with C! They have 3 little kids (5, 2, and 9 months) so it will be hectic but I'm looking forward to it. I just hope C eventually chills out and falls asleep in his carseat. 2 hours of screaming would really suck.
Random: I am ending my love affair with Target nursing tanks. 2 of them have developed tiny holes all over in the last week! I need to find a suitable alternative because I don't want to spring for the expensive Bravado ones I don't like that much. Boo.
One of the moms in my crunchy moms group is throwing a fit about the fact that the moms of older babies aren't coming to the moms of infants group anymore. Her kid is going on 9 months but isn't mobile yet so sitting in her lap for an hour + is no big deal at this point. The space we meet in is not kid friendly so the moms of mobile babies were having a really hard time keeping their kids entertained when they just wanted to wander/explore. So we are starting a spin off playgroup that meets at the same time in people's homes since everyone already had the time in their schedule blocked off. Everyone is okay with this but her and she won't stop bitching about it.
weekend plans: get the pug's nails trimmed, family outing to the bookstore, maybe out to lunch, church, lots of time for laziness and naps too.
Our weekend is totally unplanned. We'll go to church Sunday morning, and then probably swimming in the afternoon. I should think up something fun to do tomorrow. DH has been a crankypants spending too much time at home, and I'm sick of it. Not sure if I'll invite him out with me or just go have fun by myself.
Random: I've had to wake DS up at 7 both days I've gone to work this week. I hate that he's finally sleeping, and I have to wake him! But I love that he's finally sleeping - 11 or 12 hours, like a kid should.
My mom and step-dad are here visiting and are going to help us put away the Christmas decorations and organize the boys' room and closet to make room for the baby (we recently moved DS2 from the nursery into DS1's room, but we still need to combine their closets, re-hang all the artwork, etc.).
They are going to babysit tomorrow night so DH and I can have a date night. We are going to see This is 40 at the fancy movie theater with the cozy recliners and truffle fries.
My random is that my daughter woke up at 5 today, which is when my husband wakes up. He took her back to her room. I fell back asleep thinking he was still with her. When I woke up at 7 I thought maybe he had fallen asleep and was still in her room. Nope, he had washed dishes, made coffee, got dressed, and left without waking me up.
No weekend plans yet. We may go buy a bike after ballet.
Celebrating my baby's first birthday! It is bittersweet since she is my last baby. Watching some football! I'm so freaking nervous. Both of my teams playing in one day. I can't handle it.
Random #1: I feel like I can't figure out a way to spend quality time with our older kids right now. Life is just hectic since DS3 wants to be held all the time. I know DS1 and 2 are missing out on things we would usually do since it's harder to get 3 out of the house. This makes me sad. I know it will get better and they will (hopefully) benefit more from having a sibling than be harmed by the temporary lifestyle upheaval.
But...at the same time I don't feel bad about them still going to daycare while I'm on ML. DS1 gets pre-school curriculum, they go outside to play in the snow every day, and do lots of art projects and dramatic play. There is no way I could provide all that to the same degree and stay sane. Plus they love it there and I get some quality time with DS3. Ah, mommy guilt.
Random #2: I have a serious hummus addiction lately. Yum!
Weekend: Trying to combat random #1. Hopefully either a trip to the zoo or ice fishing. And some out of state friends are swinging by for a short visit while they're in town. Should be great.
DH tried to take DS to Disneyland today, but it was a block out day for our passes. I worked W, TH, Fri this week even though I normally only work on Thursdays because I was unpaid for the last two weeks of the office closure. I miss my kid, but it's been nice to not listen to the whining. My Feb paycheck will not be quite as sparse as I was worried about, so it is worth it.
DH worked OT while we were out of town, so there was an extra $200 in his paycheck. Yay for a little more going in the maternity leave fund. ALSO, I did the math for my CA STD payments and I'll get about $2100 from them over the 6 weeks. Not too bad! We should be okay with that and the $$ I've saved so far. PLUS, March is a 3 paycheck month, so that will help as well!
I think DS is finally figuring out sleeping at night. He's only been up once, at 3 am for a short little dream feed for the past 3 nights! And he goes back down around 645 for another couple of hours too. And he's been napping in his crib this week. I'm so proud of him!
I have zero plans for the weekend. We'll probably go out to lunch one day and do some grocery shopping. Thrilling!
BF has to take a deposition on Monday in NYC, so we are going down tomorrow to spend the weekend there. Can't wait to go out for some nice meals and relax.

I'm feeling really overwhelmed in what seems like all aspects of life. I feel like there is soooo much to be done and I'm just a spinning top not really accomplishing anything and just making things more difficult/ complicated. Hopefully this weekend I can get some alone time to organize my brain!
E's on his third day transitioning into daycare. He's there 8-4 today! OMG. And H took the day off in anticipation of me being an emotional wreck. Except I'm totally fine, because E's been totally fine.
So, yay! Free day for us for the first time since late September. We're going to Costco, and Trader Joe's, and to our favorite beer store that's 21+ (because they serve, too, and the "bar" isn't separate from the store), and lunch... all without worrying about how the baby's doing. Of course I still have to pump, so boo to that!
I'm going to be packing all day Sunday, preparing for our first plane trip with the baby. We're flying out Monday afternoon and I'm really hoping B sleeps and/or nurses through the whole flight.
Catbus- I'm in the Seattle area too! Which beer store?
So glad you've joined us from the main board rikki! I've been lurking on your posts for awhile, I hope this baby brings you all the happiness you very much deserve.
My random is DS is sick for the first time ever :-( I feel bad, I sent him to my parent's house for our NYE date even though my Dad had "a little cold." And DS caught it, boo! I know I can't protect him from everything always, but I still feel guilty.
So my weekend will be lots of rocking and nursing. I didn't have anything planned so at least that's good.

Aw, have fun nqb!! OMG though, the amount of people on that cruise is making me hyperventilate. When did I become my mother?
We have no plans for the first time since before Thanksgiving. We leave next weekend for Mexico. It's been 2 years since we had a vacation, so I'm really excited!
Random: When we get back we're going to work on ds' play room. I'm so excited to have a dedicated kid area, but I'm driving h nuts with wanting to make everything Pinterest worthy. "Ok, you can turn this into a playhouse, and we'll make this the chalkboard area, and let's label all the things!!" Because we're lazy, we'll probably just throw some toys on the ground, cover the outlets and call it a day.

I asked DS if he liked to try new foods and he said "Yeah. I like all different kinds of chocolate cake."
Yesterday he was sitting on the toilet and said, "Mommy, I was angry." "You were?" "Yeah." (pauses and looks off into the distance) "That's a story. That's a story about me."
We'll probably go to the science museum and do some sledding this weekend.
Weekend plans: Possibly working tomorrow Then a "girls only" birthday dinner for a friend.
The MMM twist: This friend (single) was having artificial insemination done in the fall, via a sperm donor. Her bday is actually in late November. She used the "the holidays are so busy so let's celebrate in January" excuse, but I'm *really* hoping she put it off so she can announce that she's pregnant!
Sunday, my mom is going to get a makeup application/lesson at sephora that my sis gave her for a gift. I'm tagging along to watch and replenish my Fresh Sugar supply. Yay, makeovers!
I am always really startled by (confused? curious about?) people who spend long train or plane rides without any kind of reading material or headphones or device or someone to talk to. It's hard enough for me to take a subway 4 or 5 stops without a book or magazine in my lap, I can't imagine 3-4 hours.
*Prompted by the woman who spent the entire train ride last weekend alternating between looking out the window and staring at me and DD.*
Weekend plans: It's Three Kings Day on Sunday!!!! I'll be either baking or buying a "Galette des Rois" tomorrow and DD will be opening some presents on Sunday.

I often have this thought while waiting in line at the DMV. WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE NOT PREPARED??

Happy Birthday, Lucy!
Weekend plans: taking down the rest of the Christmas decorations, outfitting the kids for sports activities that start next weekend, bday dinner for a friend and hopefully watching football.
Random: At the gas station today, I saw a car parked there with 3 squirrel tails sticking out of the trunk. At first, I thought they were fake but the more I looked and thought about it, I became convinced they were real. Gross.
HoneySpider, I am jealous! Enjoy the conference, but enjoy Hawaii more!
Hopefully we will have a low-key weekend. I plan to start studying for my licensure exam.

dh and I are laughing our asses off. Like dh can't catch his breath he is laughing so hard.
Random # 2- Willisaurus's kid is AWESOME. The anecdotes just get better and better all the time.
Thanks. I try not to post too much because I worry DH and I (and our parents) are the only ones who think he's funny.
I sat next to a guy at jury duty who just stared off into space and people watched for 8 hours. He wasn't creepy so I wondered if he was illiterate. But then wouldn't he at least bring music and headphones?
Can I add a random? I'm going to have to "unlike" Zoya on FB because the new colors look so prettty and there is never a time where I will be able to sit baby-free to let my nails dry

The Beer Junction. :-) It's in our 'hood, and the owner is a friend of a friend, so we love to support them. They're tapping Pliny the Elder today, which is a big deal because Russian River just announced they're pulling out of Washington. :-(
