Add me to the list. Although I've been here since May, I decided to change my name. I don't think I'm that creepy though. I always thought of MM as my "home board" as well Married since 2006, 2 kids (2&5), a dog, blah blah blah.
This is so amazing to me. No way could I lurk somewhere without making a peep for that long!
Hey! I follow your blog! I was just telling DH about how your family did Operation Downsize in order to buy a house. We were discussing doing something similar.

**raises hand** Lurker here also. I posted a little bit on the other board while planning my wedding, but Ive only had a few posts since coming over here.

Yeah, I don't see how you stay quiet either. I've been on TN since 2007, and while I left for about a year, I recently came back. I tried to just lurk, but that lasted about two weeks.
I was about to lurk the lurker post, then I thought naaaa, I already said something, might as well add something more.
I think I also lurk because I'm a pretty loud person IRL, and I sort of like having one place in my life where I'm "quiet" and listen and learn more than I speak out. Once I posed a comment and I got some smarmy reply from a regular whom I didn't care for. IRL I would absolutely NOT have been able to keep my mouth shut, so it was actually very nice for me to be able to just not respond and continue lurking.
Another creepy lurker... I just find it relaxing to read the threads, usually late at night when I'm bored and surfing the net. Most of the action happens during the day, so it seems weird to chime in hours after the conversation is over. I started on the knot and then MM on the nest. Followed the party over here. :drink:

Part of my beginning to lurk was for the same reason, I'm a teacher so I can't lurk or post during the workday. I always read the threads that are most interesting when I get home.
I'm on maternity leave now, so I am posting from my phone while pumping. Fun times...
Welcome! I have been around since 2006. I lurked a lot then except for some wedding planning posts, then stuff on my BMB. I am trying to post a lot more now since the migration over to ProBoards. Please post more!
Oh, and the Twin Cities are wonderful. Just lived there for 4 years. Want to move back!!

I think this sums it up for me as well. I am not quiet irl at.all and enjoy just laying low and watching everyone else gauge each others eyes out while I sit back and snicker drinking my coffee, lol. No but I do agree that the introverts are more 'outgoing' on the message board than the extroverted.
Like the OP I am super opinionated and social IRL, so I have no idea why I don't post more.
I think I remember this being discussed on here before. The introverts tend to be a lot more talkative than extroverts on message boards.
Another longtime lurker here, I'm actually embarrassed to say how long I've been lurking, although I have been making an effort recently be more active.
My H and friends can't get me to shut up so the above is definitely true for me.
Yet another lurker. My wierd privacy issues (my boss forced me to get a facebook account and I still only have 6 friends after 9 months) keep me from posting. But, I have learned so much, just reluctant to jump in.
Let's just say that I was lurking on The Knot before The Nest even existed. I have taken a hiatus here and there but I've always come back. I've learned a lot here.
I do want to be more active but oftentimes I feel like I would be repeating something that has been posted a dozen times. Also, as OP mentioned, I'm afraid of getting flamed.

*waves hi* Another lurker here. I made an account this week, finally, because I have been tempted to respond on a couple threads but never have. Plus I wanted to finally join the DC board.
I've been lurking on TN since after getting married in '08, then followed over here. I did post very rarely on TN under a different name, but it was too close to my email address so I changed it for here.
Like others, I don't have time to post during the day. Plus I already feel like I spend too much time on the Internet when I'm at home, and somehow actively participating in a message board feels worse than just reading. Illogical, I know!
But DH and I are getting closer to kids and home-buying and I'm sure I will start needing advice. So my de-lurking is mostly selfish
I lurked for yearsss before jumping in with the GCBN migration. I can't post much during the day and always felt like I got to the good threads too late (like, uh, now).
Then I grew a pair and went to a GTG and met Womet, RBP, Bncha, and MrsBAMF, who were all awesome, and decided to start posting more. Even if I'm not able to "keep up" here as much as I wish.
Another long time lurker here. I would love to post more, but I can't post from work, and by the time I get home and read most interesting threads, someone else has already made the point I was going to. . .in fact I think two or three other lurkers have already said this!
Y'all seem pretty awesome, though, so it makes me sad to not be a part of the group.

This is me, too. I've been trying to post more, but a lot of times (like now, lol) I feel like I'm just quoting someone saying, "Me, too, me, too!" Oh well.
I don't remember much from the knot because I bounced all over the boards... I think I remember P & E being the "mean girls," though in actuality, they often made me laugh.
Lurker since 2007 I guess I should post now too? I had over 1000 posts on the Nest but stopped posting after a while. I am getting sick of feeling like a creeper!
Another semi-lurker here - I've posted off and on and lurked since 2006 when I found the nest looking for money related assistance after my DH passed away. I don't post often because like many other girls have said the threads are usually done by the time I get a chance to read them. I also sometimes feel like the "mom" of the group since I'm one of the older posters and am a grandmother
For those that are interested I'm a 59 year old widow (with no desire to date!), have a wonderful son & DIL and 2 beautiful grandchildren ages 6 1/2 & 3. If anyone ever has questions about what it's like to be old just ask
