The day has just barely started and it's not going well. I spent 20 minutes looking for a still missing shoe. My niece was over last night and did something with it.
I remember her playing with my shoes (put one on her head) and I told her to put them down because they were dirty. I found one in the clothes hamper.
For the last week or so, we've been in a stagnant air advisory. So basically, dense fog 24/7. And the temperatures are ranging from 25-35, but more like 31-33 for the entire day's range. I'm so over this shit, and it's going to last through at least tomorrow night. They are calling for rain wednesday, so at least that should help if it holds true.
Normally it's not too bad, but at night its been getting so thick that visibility is literally down to 1/4 mile. And that's for lights. To see a pedestrian or something, you'd have to pretty much right on top of them.
I dyed my hair this weekend, and no one has noticed at work. It's not like I just updated, either. I put TONS of purple highlights and lowlights in it just for fun.
MH thinks it's really weird that I use kids crest toothpaste. It just tastes better, and it has all the same stuff that regular crest has. It isn't the non-flouride baby stuff.
I have a pimple on my neck, like right in the middle. It's annoying the heck out of me.
I am hoping that I can get a spot later when I go to class. It feels like -8* outside, and I don't want to walk across campus and freeze my rear off. Parking on this campus is a joke. Cross your fingers for me!
First of all, I went in to the guest bath to put clean hand towels, etc.. in there. There are nasty globs of green crap stuck to the inside of the sink...and the toilet is covered with...you can imagine. I could see it from the doorway. :::gag::: And it's official. I can't leave the house. So this morning, I took out the trash, put all the dishes in the dishwasher started some laundry and went in to my bedroom. I had my computer and was sitting on the bed with the cat. I shut the door since the tv in the living room is turned up full blast. About 5 minutes later he comes charging through the door to my bedroom. His face was pricesless. I said "do you need something?" He said, "no I thought you left for work". (I don't work). Ummm, so what do you need in my room? I have hidden my purse and H will be discussing this with him when he gets home. And we've agreed, from now on, H will go home to see him. FIL is not welcome at our house.

A few days before Christmas my niece (who is 17 months old) was playing with the wrapped presents. My dad found a small present under his pillow the next morning.
My vent: I'm on day 5 of laying on the couch. I have 9 days left after today before I go to the Dr again and get a splint in place of my boot. I'm SO bored! I'm tired of reading, watching movies and being on the interwebz. Ugh. Stupid sprained/fractured foot.
He has been working OOT, leaving Monday am and coming back Thursday or Friday. Left at 5, got there at 845 and realized he didn't have to be there. He is prepping some things for tomorrow, and will drive the 3.5 hours back.
Eta--Pom, I didn't read your vent before posting, but damn. W. t. F.
The last inauguration that I watched (via online) was the Venezuelan one. What a contrast in government ceremonies between the US and Venezuela... nobody is being paid to be there and support the president, no hatred speech against those who disagree and tremendous respect to constiution, tradition and above all the people. We might not be a perfect country, but we're pretty lucky.
We had Vietnamese food on Friday night, and now I want to Eat All The Noodles. I searched Yelp to see if there's a similar restaurant near my office, but there is not. And I already brought leftover chili for lunch.
Speaking of being a fatass, MH is planning a guys' trip in April, and so I'm already thinking of what kind of takeout I'll be getting plus what movies I want to watch.
I have my first appointment with a hematologist today - anemia is going all wonky and my iron is way too high even though my ferritin, HGB, etc is too low.
I'm excited and hoping to get some answers - or at least start down that path. I'm sick of being sick!
I'm feeling annoyed at being called out as a "remember that poster..." and pumped for details about my life not because of caring about me as a regular who's been on here for years, but as an interesting story to rubberneck.
Thinking I might as well stick with my home board and not post here anymore.
ETA: even though MM was my home board since like 2006 on TN.
No vent, but I did make pancakes from scratch this morning and they were delicious. My children have decided that since there is no school today they want pancakes for breakfast and cereal for lunch. I am totally good with this idea.

...
after this, I have absolutely nothing worthwhile venting about. I hope he leaves soon, Pom!!
When DH's cat was a kitten, I tried to do yoga with her around. Having a kitten, jump up and put her paws around your ankle, and hold on with her claws makes half moon pose very difficult (and painful) Anything that requires balance is now done behind a close door.
DD has no school today. I had planned a fun girls day, with shopping, a movie and lunch. I woke up with some form of the plague that has been going around. I finally forced myself out of bed at 12:00. H is going to take her bowling, but it's been a long time since she and I had a day off together and I was looking forward to this (she has no idea, it was supposed to be a "surprise).

I don't think anyone meant any harm. I also have been thinking about you. I hope that things are more open between you two now. I enjoy your posts and I hope you stick around.

Rikki, this truly is random, but do you have any opinion on Maduro (Venezuela's VP, in case anyone else is interested) saying he has direct orders from Chavez saying Venezuela wants to have good relations with the US? I'm wondering if this is a result of others in the government not wanting to be totally isolated without a charismatic leader when Chavez dies.
Pom, that is horrible. Were days 1-3 just as bad? Is your FIL still staying the whole 10 days?
wow pom, do you think he was going to steal from you or just go through your stuff?
we need stories from the first 4 days! (unless I've missed them)
how bad is it?
I think he is nosey, but H thinks if he saw something he wanted, he would take it. WTF! I already informed H that he will be going through FIL's luggage before he leaves.
I haven't posted, but the worst so far was the night he arrived. He acts or is totally helpless. I arranged for Delta to have wheel chair assistance for him, but he managed to miss his connecting flight in ATL and then when he landed in San Antonio, instead of a Delta porter making sure he was picked up at the gate, apparently he wandered around until TSA found him. H had already gone in to find him, while I circled the airport. It took us an hour to find him. I honestly think he tries for pity...why didn't he ask someone where to go out for pick-up? I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he was nervous. But jeebus, help yourself a little. Obviously he can find our master suite in the house to come over here and snoop. Also, his guest bedroom is right next to the main guest bath. The first night he was here, he comes in our room at 4am in his underwear looking for the bathroom. I could have lived without seeing him in his underwear my entire life. Our house is big, he walked a long way to get to our room.
Basically, he barely says anything to either myself or even H. When he does talk to H, he tries to get H to talk about moving home. This will not happen. He also wants sympathy about his pending divorce. FIL treated his STBX poorly, bullied her, but doesn't understand why "people take vows and then don't honor their committments". H told him that you can't treat your spouse like property, but you need to listen and work on making each other happy. FIL didn't like that so now he is pouting and not talking to H at all either.
