"Scouting is about teaching a substantial amount of life lessons," [Rick] Perry, an Eagle Scout, said. "Sexuality is not one of them. It never has been; it doesn't need to be."
If BSA is intended to teach boys to be good citizens, don't they need to know how to deal with diversity and be gracious to those with differences- from differences in color to class to sexuality? How is this not a life lesson?
I really hope that when the Boy Scouts do not completely implode due to gayness, as Rick Santorum has predicted, that we can put all this BS to rest. I just wonder how long it will take.
It just doesn't matter if you agree with homosexuality or not. It exists and you will be exposed to gay people in your lifetime, so why not start now? People are people.
Funny that you say that, since there are troops that are chartered to both Jewish and Muslim organizations. In addition, more that 30% of Boy Scout troops are owned and operated by civic and educational institutions.

The Boy Scout Oath demands that the boys must believe in God.

So, you are saying that one cannot believe in god and also be gay?

Because Sexuality, Race, Economic status shouldn't be a factor in how people treat each other. Why teach be nice to this or that group of people, when they should be teaching be nice to ALL people?
I've also seen soozy on CEP. She's uber-conservative.
Normally, she's off in right field somewhere, but this time I think I know sort-of what she's referring to. I've seen a lot of stories on the news lately about the various Christian churches being all up in the BSA's business. I usually just keep on channel surfing, so I don't know the particulars (and I'm guessing that soozy doesn't either, she's just regurgitating what she saw on some news station banner).
