I want to hear about how your appointment went! I'm all invested in your reproductive health now after our fortune cookie bonding last week, lol.
ETA: Okay if I could read, life would be easier. I just saw that you did update. I'm so sorry for your frustration and you can bet your ass I would find a new doctor, that kind of disorganization would make me insane.
The scheduler called me yesterday morning and said "so you're not coming in for the u/s?" me: "Oh, I'm sorry, did you not get the voicemail? I left one to let you know that I wouldn't be coming in and that you didn't need to call back to reschedule because I'm finding another doctor." her: No, we got the message. Me: Ok. -silence- Me: Did you need something from me? her: um.. -super long pause- You're not coming back to Dr. X? Me: Nope. -silence-
Eventually she asked me why and I gave her a shortened, less profanity-laced version of what I posted here. Then there was more silence. Then she says "Well can we call you?"
wtf? I felt like I was breaking up with someone! I told her we were pretty much done here and that I might call to have them fax my records elsewhere, but that was pretty much it.

Okay my attempts to work and GBCN simultaneously are proving unsuccessful.
So it seems like there's just a culture of stupidity there, seriously. I have to wonder if they lose a lot of patients due to issues similar to what you experienced, and that's why they still called you. I have never had a doctor try to get me to come back, or even contact me at all, after I said that I was changing to someone else.
No they are actually a great and well-respected group, and I do not at all live in a rural area or anything (meaning just that there are plenty of ob options). Like I mentioned, I know current and former patients who love the group and especially this doctor. It's completely possible that I just had really bad luck based on what I've heard from others. The women I know who use her are not the type to just put up with bad treatment/service, so I really don't think there's any "culture of stupidity" among the staff. Like, I almost feel bad that I had such a bizarrely awful experience because soooooooooooo many other people love her.
I do think the scheduler call was weird, but I think it's probably because people DON'T often say that they are changing doctors, and she was calling for feedback. Which I think does show they give a crap, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered.
But, all that said, I just can't go back. So as for what I'm doing now, I have a couple of options that I'm kicking around... I can go to my PCP and see if they can do the blood work and a urology recommendation for DH... I can call my insurance to see if I can go right to RE (my ins doesn't require specialist referrals, but they may require a year before an RE is covered)... or I can go for an early annual with a new obgyn, which may still require insurance involvement since I just saw the obgyn last week.

Hmm, of those options I would see if the PCP could get at least a few tests rolling, and then maybe they could refer you to an RE to try to bypass the one year requirement? Even if your insurance doesn't need a referral, maybe you can justify an earlier RE consultation if your PCP "recommends" it.
There's so much to think about. I don't even have an official OBGYN yet, my PCP has always done my PAP and everything. My doctor's office will not combine a physical with a PAP and pelvic, so I have to decide which of those to do first when I have time, and a lot hinges on whether she can order blood work from one or the other, so I have to call and ask. I'm due for both anyway.
H goes to the doctor basically never, but his PCP is in the same practice so I'm hoping that streamlines the process to get an SA done for him.
I hope that, whatever you decide, it all works out and you get some answers soon! Or, screw the answers, and you get a BFP.
