I'm 23 and wouldn't do it. I dyed my hair red and regret it because it isn't my normal brown. I used to dye it all sorts of colors, but I was a teenager.
I think early 20's is when people should call it quits. I think it also heavily depends on what kind of work you are in, too.
Probably the age where you're interviewing/working in professional buildings.
In general, I immediately think early 20's. But some people live lives that aren't traditional and it probably really doesn't matter, so the above is more accurate. If you're going into a professional career and want to be taken seriously- don't color your hair crazy colors.
If you're a lead singer of a band, rock it as long as you want.

There is a lady where I work (a university library) who is probably in her 60s is completely gray and has purple and blue streaks. It looks great on her. Obviously not everyone can pull it off, but I don't think there is an age limit.

I just turned 26 a few days ago, and I put a pink streak in it a few weeks ago. It isnt always obvious, and I can tuck it at church, or when some one important is visiting at work. It was kinda my last hurrah before turning 26. lol
I rocked blue streaks in an underlayer right up until my daughter was born. I was 27 and if I could afford it and take the time for the upkeep I would totally still have them.

I would love some colorful highlights and would totally get them if I didn't have to sit up in reception. I will probably get some on maternity leave. A few of the cheer moms actually had blue highlights for NCA and they were pretty discrete but cute. My mom does purple highlights and she is almost 54. I think a full head of funky color should probably be reserved for people under 25 or those who do not have professional positions.
I think it depends more on the person than the age of the person.
This is how I feel. If your job is cool with it and thats your personality? Go for it! I've seen some women in their 50's-60's with funky colored hair and it looked awesome on them.
If thats what you want to do and you can do it without repercussion, who the fuck cares what anyone else thinks. Life is too short to get hung up on something so minor as hair color.

papie, if I doo meet up with you at the beach this summer, I am legit worried that I will horrify you and traumatize your children.
Noooooo. I love you and my kids will think you are super cool. My H may be traumatized when they start planning their future tattoos, but he will get over it.

They're young enough that they'll forget they ever met me by the time you're headed back up north!
