My MIL who is in her 40's just dyed her bangs a funky color right before she attended a wedding. I think that hair should be a normal color by the time you graduate college, or desire to be taken seriously.
I'm 26 and I want to rock some funky colored highlights. But am not allowed to at work, even though it is just a grocery store, because corporate doesn't allow it. I really want to dye mine really dark brown and then have electric blue peekaboo highlights.
My program at school does not allow hair dyed "unnatural colors," but is very strict in general. I'm not allowed to have painted nails (not even clear coat.)
*That said, I would rock the shit out of some pink hair right now. And I'm 30.

And I think anyone who judges a book by its cover and assumes that someone with a haircolor not found in nature is not to be taken seriously is woefully short-sighted and would do well to unclench.

I had pink, purple and red hair (not all at the same time) in college. I haven't since then since I've gotten a job, but I'm thinking of dying purple streaks underneath my hair, because I really don't think it would be that big of a deal at my work.
That's a long time to want the same tattoo. I say bite the bullet.
I know, I know. I just don't know where I want the tattoo. I'm also afraid I'm going to regret it once I do it.
Put it somewhere hidden! You won't regret it, and if you do, well...it's hidden. I only have one regret tattoo, and I mean...that's what I get for getting one at 15 like a big dummy.
It's funny because when I was dying my 16 year old sisters hair blue I said there was no way in hell I would ever dye my hair funky colors. Now that I'm older I want it.

Meh. I don't expend enough energy side-eyeing colored hair to be too concerned about whether or not I'm a square. Yet.
I did purple highlights while I was on maternity leave. I was 35. It was the only time I didn't have to be concerned with looking work-appropriate. I loved them! I will totally do it again when I'm on leave with the next kid.

I'm 35 and could totally pull it off. Although I am a SAHM so no work to worry about. If I had a professional job I would absolutely NOT do it. But I've been considering dying the ends pink.
