Diary of a wimpy kid! The cheese that everyone is scared to touch. Yeah, it is swiss cheese!!! It is gross! Swiss cheese is probably the Only cheese I dislike.
Um, I love swiss chels! Come on! When I was younger I didn't like it, but obviously my taste buds have matured.
My parents always gave me that line (and still do sometimes, come to think of it). I tell them that I now like _____ because enough taste buds have died off to make it tolerable. And that I had way better taste as a picky kid. That said, I don't mind swiss cheese, but I don't love it either.

LOL @ "areyoukiddingmewiththisshit?" I can just picture little Lyane saying this. I love swiss cheese on sandwiches but can't eat it on it's own. I miss cheese....
Swiss haters, is it just generic swiss you hate? Or do you not like any "swiss-type" cheese like Gruyere, Emmental, Jarlsberg, etc.? Gruyere is one of my favorite cheeses! I wish it wasn't so expensive here.

I can tolerate Jarlsberg, but I still won't choose it intentionally.

lol!! You have the cheese touch.
Swiss tastes and smells like pure vomit. SO. DISGUSTING.
I made chicken cordon bleu with gruyere and it was good.
Generally I'm a cheddar girl though. I would like to only eat cheddar always. But I know most people don't want to only have cheddar all the time so I buy other cheeses too. But I'm still fussy. I would never eat a slice of cold generic swiss cheese and I don't like chef salads that have swiss in them. It's a weird cheese. Spongy or something. I don't know.
To me Gruyere seems very different to regular hole-y swiss cheese?

I wasn't in labor yet but I lost my MP and had the bloody show. My H went to get me a bagel which was supposed to nourish me for labor. I requested a bacon egg and cheese. He comes back with said bagel except he accidentally ordered SWISS CHEESE because he likes it.

I really like Gruyere (I don't think it's very Swiss-y?), not a fan of Jarlsberg, and I've never heard of Emmental!
Well, its swiss-y in that it's made in Switzerland! And I find Gruyere to be a close cousin of "swiss cheese". Emmental is what generic swiss is based off of so I would think you don't like that either.
On behalf of Swiss things everywhere, that's not very neutral of you ;-)
I like Swiss cheese and all it's brethren... I made the most awesome mac and cheese (and bacon) pie with Gruyere, Brie, and Chedder, and Emmental and Jarlsberg are great on all bread.
But I'm also the weirdo that puts Stilton or Gorgonzola in her potato salad.
You people are crazy! Swiss is the best! We had a pizza on our dinner menu at work that was fontina and asparagus with white truffle oil. It smelled so horrendous we took it off after only one weekend running it. It smelled like a jockstrap. HORRK
