On the elliptical it is all about the calories so I just go hard as much as I can.  Running, I have an app that let's me know my pace so I try to pick it up when slacking.

On the elliptical I do a rolling hills work out was well that is constantly increasing the level every 2 minutes.

5. How do you vary the intensity?   CrossFit can be really intense since you're either working hard to finish a set # of reps as quickly as possible, or you're working hard to do as many reps as possible during a set period of time.
