5. How do you vary the intensity? I do sprint workouts on the treadmill. I try to increase weights when I lift.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? 30min-90min. It really varies based on how I'm feeling and what I'm doing.
2. What do do? Ha ha...you said DO DO! I have a combination, I use a ballet workout DVD and a free program called Workout Trainer on my tablet. I usually do 3 workouts per week with light weights, 1 with the DVD, and 1 focused on core.

6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? 1.5 hr hot yoga, 1 hr restorative and 10-12 hours chasing a toddler, that's got to burn some calories, right?

1. How frequently do you work out?
I try and run 4 days a week.
2. What do do?
running and some core exercises.
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath?
If it's 5 miles or less, I don't walk/stop. If it's longer than that, I will take a break around the 45 minute mark to get a drink of water.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout?
less than hour, I don't. Over an hour, every 45 minutes.
5. How do you vary the intensity?
One day is speed workouts- so shorter runs, but HARD. One day is an easy run. One day I try and do an hour at my goal pace. And one day is a long run- usually about 2 hours.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? During the week- between 30-60 minutes depending on what workout.
1. How frequently do you work out? 2-3 times per week 2. What do do? strength training and intervals on treadmill/elliptical 3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? Never 4. How often do you drink water during your workout? I usually take a small drink halfway through and hold off until the finish, any more than that and I feel funny. When I was half marathon training I would do gatorade 5. How do you vary the intensity? My cardio is 30 minutes of interval training--3.5 minutes low, 1 minute high. My strength training alternates weekly between more sets/more breaks/higher weights and longer sets/no break/lower weight. 6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? Exactly 60 minutes. 30 strength and 30 cardio.
2. What do do? Run (outdoors when it's NOT FREAKING SNOWING, WHICH IS NEVER), Latin Hip Hop, Zumba and Turbo Kick at the Y, free weights, some core exercises/TRX
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? When I'm on the treadmill I have to slow down every 10 minutes or so. I find it easier to keep pushing when I run outside.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? Whenever I need to! Except when running outdoors, I've never brought water for that.
5. How do you vary the intensity? By moving around my pace, the incline, etc on a treadmill, using different weights.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? 1-1.5 hours
1. How frequently do you work out? 5-6 days a week
2. What do do? Crossfit 5x/week and I run 1-2 times in addition to that
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? I try to not stop when I run. I typically run 3-5 miles at a time.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? During CF I am drinking water almost constantly. I am in Texas and it's hot and humid here; I have to stay hydrated or I think I'd pass out.
5. How do you vary the intensity? Some CF days are much more intense than others. When I want a low intensity day I will just run a few miles and do some core exercises.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? About an hour.
1. How frequently do you work out? 4 to 6 days a week (depending on what's going on in my schedule)
2. What do you do? I take classes at a barre studio-- they have cardio, strength training and combo classes as well as interval classes. I try to go running once or twice a week as well.
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? I run intervals, so I stop every __ minutes (it varies) to slow down and then run again
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? I drink before and after, as I usually forget to bring water to my barre studio
5. How do you vary the intensity? My barre classes never repeat a routine, and since the classes are all different the intensity is always varying. For running I, as I said, run intervals. Sometimes I'll add squats or lunges or some such to make my runs harder
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? My barre classes are an hour. Running sessions are about half an hour (I don't have the attention span outside of group classes for exercise apparently)
2. What do do? jazzercise type classes, fit barre, pilates, weights(my trainer gave me a spreadsheet of what to do, when, and it varies through the month)
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? I do not run unless being chased or my children are in mortal danger. Elliptical falls into this category somehow. I can't handle stationary cardio
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? during cardio stuff - a lot. Like every 3-4 minutes I take a drink.
5. How do you vary the intensity? I just follow whatever the instructor does. My athletic club has a variety of classes per day, so I try to just do about half of each (strength training and cardio) through the week.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? 1 hr
2. What do do? usually two 3-mile runs, a 5-mile, and jillian michaels DVDs in between
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? i don't stop to catch my breath, but i do take walk breaks because i'm not a natural runner who can go all the way through without stopping
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? only when i'm running more than 5 miles. otherwise i wait until i'm done.
5. How do you vary the intensity? i base it on how my body feels. i try to do yoga at least once a week.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? 40 minutes
2. What do do? Before pregnancy: elliptical, stair climber, running on the treadmill. Now: Walking briskly.
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? I don't.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? Only when I am done or my mouth/throat is like sticking together. Even then I only take enough to wet my mouth. Drinking water during a work out makes me feel sick, and gives me side stitches.
5. How do you vary the intensity? I try to increase a little in time, or pace everyday. Some days I will spend more time running, then the next more time on the stair climber, etc.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? 1 hour.
2. What do do? I mix it up. Lately I have been doing 30 DS before work and cardio after work. Other times I lift after work and run before work.
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? Catch my breath? I run full out for 30 minutes or more, same on the elliptical.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? 2-3 times I have small sips.
5. How do you vary the intensity? When I run on the treadmill I vary my speed and sometimes the incline so I can "run hills". I also do "walking hills" on the treadmill on days my knees aren't cooperating. I start out with a brisk walk for 5 minutes at a speed of 4.0 and an incline of 0%. Every 2 minutes I bump up the incline until I'm at 10%. I stay at 10% for 5 minutes and then bump it down 2% every 2 minutes until I am back down to 0. Then I repeat. On the elliptical I do a rolling hills work out was well that is constantly increasing the level every 2 minutes.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? Morning - 30 minutes; Evening - 1 hour.
I start my "workout week" on Friday. That way I work out Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and already have 3 days in for my week. I then fit in one or two more workouts through out the regular work week without ever feeling like I have to fit one in. I consider myself ahead of the game that way. Total mind games, but it works for me.
2. What do do?
I lift, spin and run.
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath?
When I run, I would say I stop to catch my breath every mile or so. On good days, not that much. It depends on temperature, humidity, etc.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout?
Whenever I am thirsty. When running or spinning I go through about 30 oz or so. When lifting, not that much.
5. How do you vary the intensity?
I run different paths, and when spinning, I listen to different play lists. How I spin is totally dependent on what song is on.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session?
2. What do do? Jillian Michaels DVD's (circuit training. It is so beneficial for me) and 45-60 minutes on the elliptical.
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? Not at all. It goes from higher to lower intenstity so I catch my breath when it goes to the lower intervals. And really, when I'm on the elliptical for 60 minutes, I'm not doing it intense enough for me to have to actually catch my breath. I would burn out in 10 minutes if I worked that hard.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? Always, throughout.
5. How do you vary the intensity? JM DVD's do it for me and I go off of a preset program on the elliptical.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? I get at least an hour, sometimes more.
1. How frequently do you work out? Six days a week.
2. What do you do? Mostly run on the treadmill, or outside on weekends. Sometimes I'll do the elliptical after a shorter run. I lift only occasionally when I have the extra time (and keep saying I want to do it more but almost always choose to run in my limited time), though I did get into the Jillian Michaels DVDs before getting pregnant.
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? Never.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? I don't usually drink water during shorter runs, but I'll take a few sips during longer runs or elliptical workouts.
5. How do you vary the intensity? I vary my mileage and do speedwork once a week (when not pregnant).
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? One hour outside of pregnancy; 30-45 minutes during pregnancy.
2. What do do? Classes usually. Les Mills. Body Pump, Body Attack, GRIT, CX Works, RPM, and occasionally Body Combat
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? I don't stop until the workout is complete (on the machines)
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? I usually take a swig once or twice during, then a good amount after. I drink tons of water during the day.
5. How do you vary the intensity? GRIT is ridiculous. It's only 30 mins, but it's crazy, so after I take that (Weds night), I do a super low impact class like CX works that is all core, using resistance bands. I'll usually pair Body Pump with a cardio class.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? Mon- 1 Hr, Tues-1 hr, Weds-currently 1 hour, 2 in the summer, Thurs off, Fri- 1 hr, Sat-2 hrs, Sun- 2hrs
1. How frequently do you work out? I try to work out 4 to 5 times a week
2. What do do? I do 50 min on the elliptical (intervals), 25 on a bike or on a treadmill and 20 mins of weight lifting
3. If you run/use the elliptical, how frequently do you stop to catch your breath? Never. When I started working out seriously back in July 2012, I started at a comfortable pace and increased the intensity when I felt it was too easy.
4. How often do you drink water during your workout? As often as I need to except when I run. I'll drink after my run. I drink on average 1 liter/session.
5. How do you vary the intensity? I do intervals or change it on some days. I am not too consistent
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? 1h30

4. How often do you drink water during your workout? Running: never. CrossFit: a LOT!
5. How do you vary the intensity? CrossFit can be really intense since you're either working hard to finish a set # of reps as quickly as possible, or you're working hard to do as many reps as possible during a set period of time.
6. About how long, on average, is each workout session? CrossFit: 45 minutes on weekdays (I do it at lunch in my garage). Running: an hour or so.
