...about how silverware should be loaded into the rack in the dishwasher? Because SO keeps doing it wrong and now the world is going to end. I need 40-50% of the people here to confirm for me that I'm just right and he's wrong.

I said eating surface down so when you unload the dishwasher you aren't touching all up on the part of the spoon someone will put in their mouth, you know?

This is what DH believes too. However both of you are wrong. It is eating side up so the silverware gets clean. Except for knives so you don't hurt yourself.
Even though I know the right way I do it the wrong way because I don't want to make this the battle that makes me has to do the dishes lol.
Eating side up. I wash my hands before I empty the dishwasher, and try to only touch the handles as I'm emptying stuff, so I don't see the big deal. Particularly because even if I do touch the eating surfaces, it is just my husband and I using these utensils anyway.
Combination. I find it doesn't really matter with my dishwasher, so I don't give a rat's ass. The basket is seated in the bottom rack, so long as it isn't overloaded or DS leaves a knife coated in an inch of PB they all get clean.
I am maniacal about loading plates, pans and glassware so they face the sprayers. DS is pretty good in that department, but DH needs reminding. Regularly.

Yep. I once cut my leg on a knife, and since then, blades are always down. And there is definitely a right way and a wrong way to load a dishwasher. I get annoyed when H leaves his dishes in the sink (or on the counter, or table, etc.), but I get almost as annoyed when he does load them, because it's always wrong.
