We finally installed the NextFit and all was fabulous until we put D in it. The harness will NOT sufficiently tighten and I basically popped her in the mouth ( poor baby!)wrestling with the damn thing. DH can't get it tight enough. The straps covers are huge and can't come off and are rubbery where they touch the skin. The straps can't be removed in the event of a puke or poop disaster. The install and all other features are fantastic but the crappy harness is a deal breaker. I'm about 5 days outside the return window and customer service is closed. Hopefully Albee baby is reasonable so I can exchange it...or they shall feel the wrath. I've tried all the tricks I've read online and am over it. Chicco won't admit there is a design flaw. monkeybabe , be warned...

Ugh, good to know. Zoe is a little bit smaller than D and if you can't get it tight enough on her, I foresee problems on our end. We were going to install it this evening, so maybe we'll take a trip to target instead

It's really easy to install so I would try it if it wont mess up your return options. It works great in the living room but not IN the car. It is so shitty because many of the features are the best I've used. Our car is really tough to get tight installations in and this was by far the best. But if she can't be strapped in properly it doesn't matter.
I also saw on Car Seats for the Littles today that someone had the button (?) pop off of their Nextfit, so it was replaced and the same thing happened again. I'm sure Chicco has some kinks they'll need to work out with the seat.

Dahli, what will you get instead?
I'm frustrated with what to get...H has a Radian and I don't like the ratcheting harness. I've been wanting to ditch the Radian. DH and I argue all.the.time because he doesn't get it tight enough. We have an older Graco My Ride 65 for H in the inlaw's car but it is a monster in our car. Britax convertibles don't FF/install properly in our car. I'm looking at the Maxi Cosi Pria 70. OR, we may just take the Graco back from the inlaws and get 2 of the new Britax Fronteirs for H knowing we will take their's back for D eventually. I don't trust that they install their seat tight enough so the new mechanism on the Frontiers look idiot proof. www.britaxusa.com/learning-center/superior-ease-of-use/clicktight-installation-system

It's a bummer that the Britax seats don't install correctly in your car. We have a Marathon and I love it. I've heard great things about the Fronteirs and figure Violet will probably end up in one of them. Hopefully you can figure out a configuration that works for your car and keeps the girls safe with your ILs. (I wouldn't trust my ILs either with car seat safety - not at all!)

The install with FFing Britax in our Volvo are due to the vehicle headrests which cannot move. But, I have only read of it being an issue with the convertibles not the harness/boosters.

ILs have a Maxi Cosi Pria 70. J really likes it. It's not as easy to install as the Britax Boulevard in my mom's car, but it's not bad.
She was annoyed with me, but I got her in it in the living room. She's asleep right now, but I'll try in the car tomorrow morning.
Let me know. I hope it works better for you. What did you think of the strap covers?
That they're a mild pain in the ass. They're super stiff and in order to get the chest clip at armpit level, the clip has to overlap the covers on the thin part.
P.S Proboards eating posts is starting to get seriously fucking obnoxious. This website is buggy as hell.

Yep it has to overlap. Someone just posted a pic in the carseat group and the little girl's neck looks awful after being in it wearing a tank top. Where were these complaints last week??argh!

So I was interested to learn about this nextfit, so of course I google.
The seat comes up and as I am looking at all of the pictures on the side, I notice a video clip. I thought I would watch.
NO LIE, an add for the diamond candle pops up on it. I'm like, what is this, sponsored by proboards or something? It was very funny actually. I was half expecting the suit to come on afterwards...
I'm dumb. I thought you put her on something like the Wii Fit and I was like "but but but!!" Now I get it... It's a carseat, lol. Sorry it didn't work out

Considering DH's love for all things Nintendo this isn't a stretch :-)
I'm trying to install it and can't get it tight enough. I've never installed a convertible, so I don't know exactly what I'm doing wrong. Chicco's website only has a video for forward facing install.

Are you using the latch things? They pull it super tight.
