I went for my annual gyno appointment yesterday. I've gone to this guy for four years and he's a little bit odd, but never enough to outweigh the convenience of the office (until now). So, while he's got one hand up in my business, his other hand is kind of gently plucking at the back of my thigh, like really light small pinches, about nine or ten of them up and down. The female nurse was in there, but I don't know if she was looking or not.
This has never happened before. Please tell me there's some medical/homeopathic/complementary-alternative-medicine explanation for this, because I'm a little creeped out!
(And for the record, no ass play, so I guess I should be thankful for that?)
Granted, I couldn't see him, but seriously, it was little pinches. Like if you had a piece of lint on your arm and just had to pluck it off, that's basically what it felt like.
And I've never had a problem going to a man gyno before (my favorite one ever, if I had to have a favorite gyno, was a man), but I think it's time for me to switch to a woman....

Sometimes I think our nerve endings are hyper sensitive when we are in a stressful situation and stuff feels differently than it normally would. This is one of those instances, IMO. There is probably a good explanation like PP mentioned, but being in that situation you mind totally fucked with you. If you don't think you could trust him from now on, then switch. Hell switch if you don't like his haircut, it doesn't really matter, but I wouldn't be running around telling people this because you could affect his business when there might be another reason for what you experienced.
That's weird. I don't know if it is "OMG find a new gyno!" weird, but definitely weird.
IF he was pinching her, damn skippy it is. intimate, affectionate touching has no place in a medical examination.
if he wasn't, well, she can still switch without any guilt or second thought. let's just say it was a pen sticking out of his jacket or something. okay. he's not the ONLY trained gyno in the area, and he's performing a medical examination involving penetrating your genitalia. i think it's a-okay to be like, "you know, i like this person better than that person for this job and will be more comfortable." walla. hell, i switched gynos because the first i went to here had her office at like 10 below 0 and sighed with, imo, a bit too much disappointment when i declined the "offer" to have some medical students watch the examination.
Yeah, that's kind of why I'm asking. I'm fairly sure of what I felt (and that it wasn't just something bumping into me -- the timing and locations didn't), but not positive. But it was definitely nothing that I have ever felt from him or any other gyno. I think if he weren't already a little bit odd, I'd think less of it, but this might just be the tipping point. I'm not about to post a review on Yelp or anything, but might just quietly not schedule another appointment with him.
And yes, my snatch is totally irresistible. I hope the next doctor can handle it! But seriously, I know this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with him being a man (and more likely, that that's just my issue...).

I'm operating under the assumption it wasn't intentional, and something was bumping her.
If he is legit pinching her or touching her then yes, that is an issue.

and my point is that it's an issue either way. not a "file a complaint with the board" way, but certainly in a "find a new doctor" way.
Why does no one else think maybe she should just ASK HIM what he was doing?! Just because you are in a vulnerable position doesn't mean you have to just silently lie there and not question what's going on until you get home and can ask a bunch of Internet strangers!

uh, because the time to ask him has come and gone?
sure, that would be ideal. but at this point it's just a bunch of monday morning quarterbacking.

She could still ask him. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds in the OP never even considered saying anything as it was happening.
I wouldn't ask him now either, after the fact, but she could. It isn't weird at all to speak up immediately if something is making you uncomfortable or you wonder why the doctor is doing something.
I think it's sad that so many women seem to think they can't do this.

oh, piss off.
you're being a patronizing doink about this. the fact that this person in this particular situation didn't ask the question in the moment (legs akimbo, speculum up the hoo-ha) isn't a fucking commentary on the state of women's self-actualization and awareness of rights.

Chile please. Is she really supposed to think clearly( much less be assertive) when she was at the GYN, legs up in the stirrups(unless he uses that moveable chair) , one hand in her business and another mysteries hand plucking her? She was in a very vulnerable position and confused as hell.

could it have been like a distraction technique? Like he was about to do something inside that might be ouchy and he was pinching you elsewhere so your attention would be on that instead of the other ouchy thing??
