Sorry it took so long to get off my ass and get some pics up. I thought H had taken some but apparently neither of us had thought to do it. Even though it's been weeks, here they are.
Since the report, we have had the windows replaced and all the cabinet doors installed.
Before:
After:
Cabinets: TSG Shakertown in Solid Maple Birch Countertops: Caesarstone in Misty Carrera Floor Tile: Pietre D'Italia 6 x 24 gray travertine Backsplash: Crossville Ebb & Flow Sand and Surf - 1 / 2 x 1 / 2 Mosaic Faucet: Kohler SS Simplice Paint: BM Horizon Gray. It reminds me a bit of RH Silver Sage. It's a chameleon in color. Sometimes gray, sometimes green, sometimes brown... depending on the time of day and the lighting.
Still to do: A window covering. Maybe a shade? Fabric? Any suggestions welcome. A poster or other artwork next to the doorway, at the end of the run of cabinets.
How is it functioning for you? We're getting ready to meet with a kitchen designer to help us figure ours out, and I am kind of concerned that I will forget about something important to me.lol
Thanks all. It really has increased the amount of space in the kitchen.
It's not necessarily visible in the photos above but our narrower fridge helped up get more counterspace on the left wall. On the right wall, adding cabinets, counter, and electrical outlets have been such a Godsend. The kitchen feels twice as big and it is so nice to work in. H and I can be in there together comfortably. Before we were always bumping into each other and never had enough room to work. The real test will be a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
FormerlyRR, the cabinet space is more than enough. Most of the upper cabinets on the right are bare, but I am not at all upset about it.
315, more questions! What do you think of your faucet? We ordered the same (except in matte black) and hope to have it installed by the end of the month. Most of the reviews were good, but some people complained the head doesn't always lock in place or that the base leaks. Have you experienced either of these issues or anything else?
munkii, we love the faucet. I love the pull down and it is easy to use. The only issue is that our old one had such terrible pressure the good water pressure is sometimes a surprise. Ha! No leaks or issues so far.
I am becoming a less is more fan when it comes to window covering and I'd be tempted to leave it as is. It's clean, uncluttered, and really adds a pop of sunshine.
(did I really just say pop of sunshine? that's so sherry petersik of me...)
Congratulations on surviving a kitchen reno. We have friends going through a divorce who each individually insist that the kitchen reno is what destroyed them.
