Any injuries, problems, or vents? I think I've turned a corner with the injury, so I'm hoping things are on the way up.
Highlights from the last week? 4 pain free miles on Sunday.
What are you training for? Date? (Feel free to join in even if you aren't training for anything specific!)

Any injuries, problems, or vents?
Still babying my leg a bit and doing some hip strengthening work, and I really need to get better about stretching. I also am transitioning to morning runs on the weekend, which I kind of despise, but it's hot outside and getting hotter.
Highlights from the last week?
Well. I barely ran, but it was a nice rest week. This is officially week 1 right now.
What are you training for? Date? Disney January 2014

Highlights from the last week?

No highlights. It's hot this week. I was hot yesterday morning at 5:30 am. Oh wait! One highlight, Thursday night spin instructor is a total hottie.
What are you training for? Date? trail marathon on August 3 + regular marathon on September 28 <-- At this point, I think it is fair to guess that I will be moving and won't be doing the 9/28 race, but I still don't have enough details to take a guess about the 8/3 race, so I will keep up the long runs until I can make a call either way.
What is your training schedule for this week? Four runs of 5-7 miles, one of those with hills (done) and one of those with tempo miles. One long run of 15 miles. Two bike rides ~20 miles each.
Any injuries, problems, or vents? My H is not making it easy for me to get in outdoor runs so I have been stuck on the treadmill a lot. Seriously, he has the nerve to prioritize his job over my ability to run outside. ^o) FWP.
Other problems 98% humidity each time that I have gotten to run outside and some nasty armpit chafing <-- So random? Historically I have almost never used/needed Body Glide, like anywhere. Suddenly I find myself coating myself in it routinely.
Highlights from the last week? I realized that I can run at warp speed, but I already AW'd about that. Other than that, just another solid week of running.
I just signed up for a competition so I'm joining in
What are you training for? Date? Tri-State Throwdown (CF competition) on August 10th
What is your training schedule for this week? Training MWTS this week.
Any injuries, problems, or vents? I need to be able to string together some pull-ups for this competition. I can do exactly one kipping pull-up. Then I have to reset and do another one. So I'll be going in early maybe twice a week and working that for a few minutes. I have issues with insomnia so my recovery isn't as ideal as I would like it to be.
Highlights from last week? Just signed up, so "training" starts this week. But I went to the Central East regionals last weekend and it seriously pumped me up. Going to any kind of competition always gets my psyched.

Any injuries, problems, or vents? I have shin splints from walking like 5 miles in flip flops saturday (aka: the weekend prior to starting marathon training). me=dumbass. so I'm already off the 'plan' on week 1 but whatever. I'll figure it out.

Highlights from the last week? Had a great race, and am not feeling sore or fatigued at all, which is magical.
Ahhhhhh....So excited for you! Are you freaking out? What will happen to the ducks?! lol
Not freaking out yet, although maybe I should be? I still have like zero details about it. We have had two people offer to take the ducks, one is a friend who was about to buy some anyway, the other is a guy who has a pond where they could live. The thing I'm more concerned about is the dog. I really don't think it will be possible to bring him, which makes me super sad. There are a lot of rules regarding temperature and flying dogs, so that is clearly a problem. Plus, when we looked into bringing him to India, we found out that the crate that he requires for air transport is too big to fit through the cargo doors of a standard aircraft, so he would have to be shipped with horses or other large animals - bottom line - it would cost $10K-$15K to move Duke assuming that we could even get a day where the temperature was cool enough to ship him. I'm pretty torn up about that, but I'm sure we will find some solution that I am ok with on some level.

Oh, I'm so sorry. That would break my heart. How long will you be gone for?
kams - Speaking of my move, we want to bring SUPs with us. What kind did you get? What does one look for in an SUP?
We bought greco soft boards.
There are a few options: inflatable (great for rivers), and then hard & soft boards. I'm no expert, but hard and soft seem pretty similar. The soft is a really dense foam, and feels a bit better on your feet. It still has a hard bottom. In reality, we just found a great deal on grecos, they have great reviews, and so we just went with them.
Along with the board you need a paddle (ours are adjustable), a leash or life jacket, a way to store them in your house (they sell hook-type racks), and a way to transport them (we got the Thule Taxi roof rack).
They are SO big though, and may be a bit of a hassle to move. I would love to paddle in Dubai, oh my!

Like I already mentioned, I have like zero details, but when we went to India we could ship a bunch of stuff. I think we will probably get to ship a container or half container of stuff, so we'll bring surf boards, (hopefully) paddle boards, two road bikes, two mountain bikes, both treadmills, and on and on.
