Way to go smock! I got my butt out of bed at 6am and did my run too. I ran last night when it was 95 and disgusting so I figured, I have to just get it done in the morning.
You ran when it was 95!??! I'm speechless. That is either really badass or really, really stupid.
I'll go w/ really really stupid for $200 Alex!
Seriously though - I hadn't been out since Friday and slept through the alarm yesterday morning. It was a quick three at 6:30 last night and half of it was on trails in the shade and the other half was pretty much shaded in the neighborhood. I was sweating like a pig though and it was pretty brutal. I kept thinking, "Oh YEAH, this is why I wake up at 6am to get this done."
I need to work out tonight, I didn't last night and I need to get back on the horse. I want to be able to buy new pants this weekend and I am so close (I already have saggy butt in my work pants).

I love when it's time to buy new pants - what a great feeling!
I'm back to my daily 11am gym appointment (yesterday was day #1). I missed it so much. It was nice to get away from my desk for an hour and sweat a bit. Although the stupid tv at the gym doesn't appear to get ABCFamily anymore... and watching Gilmore girls was always such a great motivating factor for me. And they don't get TNT so no Supernatural either!
Works Out In Her Clothes girl left awhile ago to work in a different building/for a different company. However, toward the end of my workout yesterday- a guy walked in in khakis, loafers and a polo... and proceeded to get onto the strength training equipment. He'd do like 30 seconds on each. And the last time I was at the gym- there was a scourge of people working out in their regular clothes. SO effing gross!
I slept like a rock last night, which is good, but it carried on into the morning hours. I was so tired. I had a hard time getting up at my normal time, much less early to go running. It is supposed to hit 97 today and we have a low tonight of 78, so I don't know what I'll do. I'm pretty sure I missed my window. The good news is that I had a very active weekend with a lot of walking around, so I have that to cling to.

Don't force yourself you tin the heat and humidity if you don't have to.
Next summer I might just take a hiatus from running. We had one "cool" day last week where it was low 60s when I ran, and it was SO MUCH BETTER! I was faster, I wasn't super sticky, I didn't feel like I was swimming through humidity . . . Sigh. I can't wait for fall!

You be quiet! Yes, running sucks, but summer is awesome!
Fall means winter. Winter is terrible. And let's be honest, running kinda sucks anyhow.
I don't plan on running tonight. I ran last night - Week 3, day 1. My legs feel like Jell-O today. I ran after 8 last night so it was only about 85. I'm going to mow the lawn instead. It'll be about 90. That should sweat off about ten pounds. LOL

I did week 3 day one yesterday too! Today was supposed be my resting day, but I couldn't sleep. So I got up at about 5 and walked. It was about 55 degrees outside and I got to see the sunrise. It was beautiful! It's supposed to be around 90 today, so I'm kind of glad I got up and did something. But now I'm STARVING and I forgot my lunch at home.
On a random note: The service tech that I supervise is being especially difficult these days. I think I might have to let him go. It's frustrating because I had such high hopes for him. He has the knowledge to do the job, but his attitude stinks and he's creating drama with the other employees... I don't want to interview people!!!!!
I know smock, I'm so over summer. Constant mosquito bites, not able to enjoy the back yard because of the mosquitoes and nasty gross runs. I LOVE THE FALL.
IMO nothing is better than a run on a crisp fall day in October with the leaves changing and the wind slightly blowing. FOURTY-EIGHT degrees is my running happy place.
Not a runner, but I went to the gym last night and did my usual 30 minutes on the elliptical. I bumped up the resistance a notch and had a bit of a faster time. Weird. My goal is to start going for distance - 3.1 miles. At my pace that's like 37-40 minutes. :/
I'm leg pressing my body weight now. A random guy was all "damn gurl" to me last night. It made me feel good. My BFF also called me to tell me that she's noticed how trim I look lately. I'm not really seeing it, but OK!
doglove. 43?!? Ewwwwwww. That's when my chest hurts. I think my perfect temp (for running) is somewhere in the high 60s.
You really need to move. lol.
eta- sorry, you said 48. I was going to say... That's not fall. That is winter.
I love 48, but I have a real hard time tolerating the heat and being hot.
Yeah, my summer runs start out okay, but I overheat really quickly and then it's just miserable. My face turns bright red, and I swear everyone in the park is pointing at me going "why is that red-faced fool flailing all over the sidewalk?"
So do you think the weather where you grew up determines your perfect running temp? Because in the PNW, people put on shorts and sandals if it hits 60. Maybe that's why I'm so intolerant to hotter temperatures.
I think it determines your weather tolerance in general. There are people that adapt better than others, but warmth is all relative and IMO we are conditioned mentally (and probably physically too) to feel things differently.

Definitely - I can deal with the cold no problem because I'm used to cold NE winters. Heat and humidity? Can't deal with it and I've been here ten years. OMG a decade!
