I went to try on & buy hiking boots today. I have sticker shock. Apparently I have unusually wide feet. The only pair that I tried on that I liked was $185. Holy crap. I need good ankle support, I wear B on my back most of the time when we go hiking. The minimum for a good pair with ankle support was $130, but none of them were wide enough with enough support. So I had to order a pair in a wide size since REI didn't have it in stock (understandably, wide sizes are not common unless you special order.) I have never spent this much on a single pair of shoes before.
Now I'm curious what the most expensive pair of shoes you have ever bought cost.
I spent $200 on my Asolo backpacking boots. WELL worth it. Those things are freakin amazing. Not that I use them a lot these days lol
other than that, I have spent $110 - $120 on danskos but besides my danskos I try to get shoes on sale. Like all my Born sandals I got at marshalls for $30. I just recently got a pair of naturalizer sandals for $28.
I refuse to wear super cheap/plastic shoes. I used to do that all the time in my youth and have since realized that if you own good and comfortable shoes you don't need to own a lot of them.

I haven't bought them yet but I REALLY want a pair of Frye boots. Depending on the style they could cost close to $400. I'm planning on buying them in the late summer.
But actually bought, probably around $200, not sure. I don't spend a ton on shoes.

I think me personally, $250 or so. DH has to buy boots for the Army constantly, and those fuckers are like $200 a pop every few months, I hate it. He obviously needs those though, lol.

The next semi-annual sale at Nordstrom's I am going to go all in I think. They usually have ok deals on them during the preview days. I know that Zappos has last seasons stuff but I like to try it on before hand if its from a season behind that is harder.

I want some Melissa back button zip boots in multiple colors, I may actually have to save my mad money.
I think the most I've spent on shoes is a little over $100.

Usually once a year you can get Frye's for super cheap on Amazon. Last year they had a pair for like $225. I totally hesitated buying them and now I regret it.
And for Frye lovers, there are several pairs of Frye's that are on sale for the Anniversary Sale at Nordstrom. The sale is open for cardholders now, to the public later this week (I think? not sure on the public date). I can go look what styles if you want.

I think the most I spend was 90 on steel toed, non slip, water resistant work shoes. I usually get pumas or adidas when they're on sale. Confession: I hate boots. I sneer at them.

I deleted my Anniversary sale email, because I didn't want to be tempted. No I have to go dig it up.

I've been thinking about this, and my most expensive pair of shoes were my wedding shoes. They are Christian Louboutin and they are gorgeous, but I wore them ONCE. How ridiculous is that?
I do try them on frequently and wear them in my closet/bedroom, usually while wearing yoga pants rolled up so I can properly see the shoe.
My Frye boots were $300 something... (Vanessa Slouch). My running shoes are $115 and I get new ones every 6 months.
I think most of my shoes are in the $100-$150 range.
Oh, I forgot about these because Patsy got them for me! He got me some really nice Nikes, but I think they were still under $100, or maybe just over, because the receptionist at his work's H works at Nikes' HQ and bought them with his employee discount. I should really get back into running...

These Bettye Muller suede wedges were about $300 from Anthro a loooong time ago before I was a better comparison shopper and didn't have a house, dog, kids...I've barely worn them but D enjoyed trying to wear and then eat them when I tried to snap a pic. I think they would look cute with the dress Trudy posted earlier.
