There are some things, like the rice and beans he had for lunch today, that are easier to spoon feed. I give him his own spoon also so he can practice, but he's not very good at it yet. He tells me when he's all done, so I'm not forcing food in him.

Sometimes with something like oatmeal or grits if I see he isn't really eating it. It is usually because he isn't getting much with his spoon and gets frustrated.

Yes, things like rice, quinoa, oatmeal, etc. Most of the time he cries and grabs the spoon from my hand and tries to feed himself, which results in food all over the place (expect in his mouth).
He doesn't use any utensils on his own. I don't feel like dealing with the mess. I'll feed him yogurt and applesauce. Everything else he eats with his hands.
Yogurt, applesauce. We occasionally buy purees because they are cheaper than pouches and spoon feed those. They love purees and will eat all flavors. Pureed carrots? Awesome! Actual carrots? No way.

Oh and we still spoon feed a bunch. She does well with a fork and a tiny bit of assistance, but not a spoon. We feed her cereal in the morning and baby food for veggies with lunch and dinner. I cannot get her to eat veggies otherwise.

Yogurt is all me. Everything else is assisted utensils and his hands. He eats 3 times as much when a utensil is involved, but he wants to do it himself. I can preload forks. Spoons are a PITA.
If its skyr, just beware that it has close to 0 fat in it. I need more calories for Melody than Skyr can offer.
It's the Siggis brand, is that the same thing? I actually bought it as a snack for me but realized how handy it is for Jamie.

Yep, for some reason the process eliminates most fat, especially if its plain. Sometimes the flavor can add fat, but its usually fat free. Great for us
Eta: champion and valley something or other makes tubes, too, and Mel gobbles them right up. I'm in love with yogurt tubes.
We don't really offer foods that need a spoon. One of these days we'll have to offer yogurt, but he wouldn't let us spoon feed him, so I'm not willing to deal with the mess just yet.

Pretty much this, plus Maggie refuses to try and I don't really feel like making a big deal of it. If I load the spoon or fork for her she guides it in no problem, but she won't load it up herself. Shrug. She'll get there eventually.
