I don't have kids either, but I asked my sister a couple of weeks ago what my nephews were going to be. The 3 year old wants to be Batman, so she's dressing up the 1 year old as Robin.

Lucy's being Bubbles from the Powerpuff girls. She can't decide if I should be Blossom or Buttercup, and I guess her American girl will be the other one.
I DON'T KNOW. it's on my list of things stressing me out. i don't have time to sew something, since my sewing machine is still packed away because my house is full of crap.
i was thinking ladybug girl (i.e.: www.amazon.com/Ladybug-Girl-David-Soman/dp/0803731957/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_y), since i can assemble all of those items without having to sew, each could be reused by my kid for playtime ad infinitum, and she needs new rainboots anyway. but when i ask L if she wants to be ladybug girl she's like "yes. i also want to be a dinosaur lion." WTF.
the baby will, if he's here, be a firefighter because my mom lost her damn mind and bought a newborn sized firefighter costume/sleeper.

I have no idea! I'm leaning toward an astronaut. I thought he'd be walking by Halloween but he'll probably still be crawling (or maybe taking first steps) so it has to be something crawl-able.
The laziest costume ever, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Michaelangelo, to be exact. I bought the shell and mask in the TMNT toy section at Walmart, bought a pair of green pants and green t shirt, boom. Plus, he has already been playing with the shell and mask, so I know it will get some use other than as a costume.
Oh also, this will be their first Trick or Treat year. We're doing the local downtown business one and I'm so excited!!! I hope they get candy they can eat. Then it will be like a double first -- first ToT and first candy, lol. [ETA we will not get candy from every single place b/c, c'mon, toddlers. This is mostly for my own excitement.]
I think the boys will love being around the bigger kids and greeting everyone at the stores

I told Nattie she should be Ladybug girl. We've been reading a lot of these books lately. I love the idea.
She keeps saying clown, I keep begging her to be anything else. ANYTHING!
I have an old Lamb costume Natalie wore as a baby but I think it's too small for Em. I need something lightweight and easy for her to walk in.
i would hand sew a dinosaur lion costume before i'd let my kid be a clown.
i'm totally foisting ladybug girl onto her. she just wants the candy anyway.
