I ran a crappy, slow 17 miles a couple of weeks ago. Just got back from an AWESOME 18 miles, that only took one more minute overall lol i felt great the whole time! My last mile was my fastest. I just checked and it was like 8 minutes faster than last years 18 miler (which admittedly was in the middle of august). That race last week really boosted my post-injury confidence, hooray! This marathon might not suck too badly after all.

I did end up registering for and running the 5K right by my house this morning. It was nowhere near a PR, but still good enough for 2nd place in 30-39 (my first race in my new AG). It is still pretty muggy here, so I'll take it!
24:45 2nd in 30-39 30th overall (not sure how many people ran...at least a few hundred I'd guess)
One of the most popular trainers at the gym took my spin class this morning and raved about it--she even took a class pic to post on her website and is going to refer clients

I really didn't want to do my long run this morning and I thought about quitting the entire time. I have been thinking about everything but running lately, but I did it. It was slower than usual for me, but it's done. Only one more long run before my race!
I ran all hills on my 16 miler today. It was probably harder than either of my 20's this cycle. It wasn't exactly pleasant, but it was worth it to have that moment at the end where I realized I am done. Not just with this run, but with the whole plan. The hard work is over, and after 2 easy weeks I get to run my reward. And then 2 weeks later I get to do it again! I'm very excited for October
It can't be 17 because I just rocked the shit out of mine
I also accidentally bandited a 5k on my route this morning, lol.
Perhaps you're on the even schedule with me. If that's the case , expect to wish for death on one of your 20 milers!
So today I give you a lesson in why it's a bad idea to be training for your 5th marathon, but yet you have only run 3 5ks. That's right, 3 5ks. Lol Anyway, my plan was to not truly race, (maybe 7:15 pace?) but just PR since I have 22 that I need to go well tomorrow. Smart plan, eh? Not when your first mile is a 6:51! I had planned for that to be 7:20-7:25. At 1.5, I quickly said fuck this shit, and slowed way down. I did PR w/an unofficial 22:37 & ironically, 7:15 avg. Lol Humid & windy, so I'll take it.
I do kind of want to do another one, because with a steady pace & a little control, I know I can break 22:00. After that, I'm done though. 4 is my max.

I had a good 17-miler this morning. Nothing spectacular, but it was solid. I randomly ran into a friend at mile 12, so we ran the last 5 miles together. This run was on the heels of a 12-miler yesterday, so it's good to know I can run on tired legs.

Ha! I also rarely run 5ks. I do two a year, and only because one is organized by a friend of mine, and the other is kid-friendly (so I push a jogging stroller).
I did a spin class twice last week. Spin teach likes me because when we were doing post-spin stretches she said, "Reach around..." and I giggled.
AND I ran *outside* on another day. I only ran/walk 1.7 miles but I did it outside and it was glorious(still working on C25k; I have a mental block about running for 10-20 minutes straight. Blergh.)
I cannot AW, since instead of 12, I did 8.5 because I turned off my alarm instead of getting up. 8.5 is all I had time for since I had to frost dd3's birthday cake before leaving for school where I'm doing the book for a volleyball game. Then to the store for party favors of some sort before a gtg at 3 for dd.
Mine said 3.11 I started mine right as they said go and didnt wait to start near the front. I had no idea where the official start was lol 30:00 even You?

40 seconds behind you. The start definitely wasn't marked well at all.

No it wasn't lol. That was the only neg if the race. I started and ended right at the overhang thing. Started at finish spot Everything else was great but the no real start spot!
Good time!!! Awesome pace! It was gorgeous finally today!
