@cse1960, you will get so much out of therapy. I hope that you find a good one (I'm partial to CBT but that's cause it's what I do). I hope you find what you want and need.

This is so true. 

Also, I'm not sure why you called, but when I went in the first time I cried through the entire appointment. First because I was kind of embarrassed to be there and then because I was so relieved to finally be getting help. I apologized for crying and was told it happens all the time. 

So if there are more tears, yay! You're normal!

When I needed a therapist, I was desperate and kept calling offices until I found one who could see me right away. I cried to at least 10 secretaries. They were all very kind.

Sometimes I hate therapy too. I don't like talking about things that hurt, I don't like having to deal with them, and I would really rather ignore them. But to be a healthy person, I HAVE to confront and learn to deal with all those things that really, really hurt.

I hope therapy helps.

I drink

I can't drink.

And drinking doesn't fix anything. It just covers it up. You'd be better off learning to deal with your problems instead of hiding from them.
