My friend is having a baby and a few of us are going in on a basket of essentials for her. One of the girls is saying we "Must" include this thing. I'll do it and won't whine but I wanted to know if anyone here actually used this and did you like it?
Yes. They are good for very small infants but I prefer the bulb suction thing you get free from the hospital. You'll get a lot of votes one way or the other. Both work but I think the bulb has more "power." and I still use it on my 3 year old.

It's really a remarkable little device.
I also have not tasted snot air, but I pretty much let my 7-month old wipe his snotty face all over me because I think it's sweet, so I might not be the best judge.

I own it but have not needed to use it yet. I feel like I might need to be high on bath salts before working up the gumption to suck on the straw. It's so freaky, and now that I know about snot air.....UGH
I have chased the kid down with the bulb a couple of times, but he is catching on to what the bulb is all about and it's getting harder to do.
We have one, but we haven't had much luck with it. We didn't have luck with the bulb, either, though.
did you use the one from the hospital? They have magical bulbs. I don't know why, but they are softer and suckier than any of the ones you can buy in the store. I have a collection of bulbs trying to find ones like the hospital and they all fail.
I like the nose sucker once their noses are big enough for it.

Really? The bulb did zero for us. Literally zero. You can control how powerful the suck is with the snot sucker that's why I love it. It gets the deep set gunk out.
Maybe it's my lack of sucking power (that's what she said) but the bulb is even better now that I can stick it a little further in than I could with the NF. Whichever you do, you really MUST use saline spray/drops first.

YES! I've even tried going to medical supply stores in several states and no one carries the magical bulbs!!!
