I'm so nervous, Mr. GT hasn't shown up yet. I think he may bade dropped out and could be walking back from Maneunk w out a phone or money. He was trying for 3:10 and we haven't seen an update since the 30k.

Oh no! Any word yet?
I was right, he walked most of the last 4 miles, so he can maybe try again before Christmas.
This was not my best race. Pretty bad actually. My lofty goal was sub 9 minute miles, which I thought I could do bc I ran BS at 8:44 and my last half was 9:04 mm. I was feeling GREAT during the race but my GPS majorly screwed me. It was off by over a MILE. It had me running 14.35 miles at a 8:35 pace, but alas, 'tis false, bc the only time that matters is the one on the clock, which was 2:02, which is 4 minutes slower than my last half
The good news is I felt great during the race and this is the first time I have run a half where I didn't feel like I was going to die by the end and felt like I could have gone longer. I am just sad with my time. I wasn't very dedicated with my training so I was kind of expecting it. Overall, I am happy with the time I had. It was a great day and I felt like everything ran smoothly.
On a side note, did anyone see the dead cat squished into the road by the zoo? For some reason I found it soooo funny that they spent so much time with security and towing cars etc. but couldn't scrape up the road kill in the dead center of the course. I have an odd sense of humor.
I had a tough race. Overall I am glad I hung in to run it after my Achilles injury last month, but I really felt the missing miles in my training that resulted. The first 6 miles I really had a ball, especially running along Chestnut. But the hills around miles 7 and 9, and the lack of crowd support (and the beer smell along the frat row by Drexel) took a toll. Miles 11-13 were a little of a sufferfest. I know it was the miles and the hills that I cut in order to keep running through this race, so I am mostly ok with it. I went 2:09 high. My best is 2:07:48, so it was not a PR, but not a disaster either.
The other thing is that I ran 13.26 this time, whereas my PR race I only had 13.08 on the Garmin. I actually think the course was short when I did my PR, so I will take my big ole finisher medal and be proud to have stuck it out.

My Garmin had 13.26 too! Gah - I could have been closer to my PR had the course been correct or had I stayed closer to the tangents.

Sounds like you did great given your Achilles injury. I see a sub 2 hour half in your future.
My Garmin measured 13.2, I think a was able to cut .06 off by studying the course before the race. I've also run the race before, but I remember very little from the actual race so I don't know if that helped or not.
Look at your garmin maps, mine got all funny along chestnut. It has me running theough buildings the. Over a few blocks north for most of it. That mile was really off. It ended up eventually getting back on track, mine said 26.25 at the end.
Mine was 14!!!! . 35 … it kind of ruined it for me. By the time I figured how much I was ahead I was at the hills and like, screw this. I wish I could have this race over. I feel like I blew it. I said I was done with halfs for a while but now I want to redeem myself.

Wow, that is all kinds of crazy, my map has me a good two blocks off. I actually remember my times being crazy at this point too,

Congrats to all of you who finished!! Looks like the weather ended up being fine. I ran the philly half the past couple years and loved it, but was on vacation and missed it. I was kinda upset when they changed the race date, it was originally supposed to be a week later and I booked our trip around the race!
