DH was able to go in early so I didn't get to race, and I got a nice little 4 am wake up from the 5 year old saying his tummy hurt, followed immediately by puking. Good times. But, the H will be home for dinner, and wine is on the menu. Still tons to be thankful for

I had a 4-miler. It was 22 degrees, my phone decided it didn't like that and shut off before the race even started even though it had a full charge, and it was slow going at the beginning, but it was really fun. I had wanted to finish under an hour and I think I could have but my running buddy was struggling today, so I chose to stick with her and give her encouragement up until the last quarter mile or so when I ran ahead. I ended up just a hair over 1:04 and I'm okay with that, especially for my first 4-miler.
We did a 22 mile group road ride this morning with our usual cycling crew. It was a nice holiday pace (aka not that fast). It was about 30 degrees at the start. Brrr!

No official trotting here. The local run was a prediction run, where the winner is the person who finished closest to 11am. It sounded super fun, but the timing just didn't fit with my turkey prep. So, I just did 6 miles around the neighborhood first thing in the morning.
I PR'd at my 5 mile Turkey Trot this morning - I ran a 37:03 - totally pumped about my time!!
It was in the low 20's and I was layered up but never got warm while running. It's one of my favorite races to run even though it's a hilly course and the last mile is one straight hill. We got there 10minutes before the start - DH and I walked quickly up to the start - I jumped in front and 5 minutes later I was off. I felt good the whole race and I'm still astonished with my time.
DH was happy that Whole Foods was open during the race so he hung out there and grabbed breakfast while I raced:)
I ran 2 miles when we got home as a cool down and chowed on yummy food this afternoon with family and friends - great day and race!
Congrats everyone!! I had a a 10k PR at 52:31. My watch died and the course was ultra hilly, so I had no idea where I was at pace-wise and stayed conservative. Would have loved to be closer to 50.
DD did great, too! She ran the WHOLE way! When it got tough, she just pushed through and hung tough - I was really impressed! She asked when she could race again . And then she asked for pie

Sounds like it was chilly for most people. I think the real feel was 17? for the race. I was dressed perfectly for the 10k. Just not for the 40 mins waiting for it to start!
It wasn't a PR for me, but it was my strongest race ever. And a bit hilly too.
I ran the 5k last year as my first race ever and after doing C25k. I finished in about 37 mins (12mm). I did the 10k today with 11:30mm. And was at 34:30 for the 5k mark. It's fun to see how far I've come.
I created my own 10k event with about 9-10 of my running friends. It was 1) free, 2) there were medals (I took ribbon and tied them around medal forks LOL) and 3) there were mimosas at the end. It was in the high 30's (which is super cold for Florida) and I PRed at 54:29 (8:47). It was a lot of fun and hope to do it again next year.

Nice job! You finished right around the same time as my BIL...he would have been one of those nuts in shorts. I finished right around 46:30, not even close to last year's PR (42:30) but for four months postpartum I can't complain!
I won a pie! Long legs stayed in her AG, while I got bumped to the 36-45 age group. She still beat me by a few seconds, but I was first in my AG! (15:55) I got a freshly baked, warm pecan pie for Thanksgiving! Yum!
Well, it wasn't my best effort this morning (about 20 seconds slower than my recent PR), but I had fun and I wore a really cute christmassy shirt. And there was a hoodie and race medal. For a 5k. I'm not used to such good swag for a short race, so it was a nice treat!
I was a little bummed because I finished 4th in my AG. I hate hate hate finishing 4th. So close to placing!
I just did a 5-miler Turkey Trot in my parents' town in Jersey. It was a low-key race and pretty fun...and they had cups of chicken noodle soup at the finish line, which is way cooler than granola bars. Cold and sunny with very little wind - great race weather.
