DH and I are having our first night out since DD was born!
I'm a little nervous because we're leaving her with my ILs, and she'll be meeting them for the first time this afternoon AND they are going to attempt to give her a bottle, which hasn't been that successful with DH doing it. We're just going to dinner a few miles away and coming right home. Worst case scenario, we come home to DD in complete meltdown mode, right?
H and I (and DS) are standing up in my SIL's wedding tomorrow, and she just informed us we'll be taking outdoor photos. We live in Chicago. Whut?
My first prenatal appointment was one year ago tomorrow! Awwww
One of my BFF's got married years ago in Feb in Chicago and we did outdoor pictures. It wasn't as bad as we all imagined it was going to be. And the pictures turned out great! On the plus side at least it's going to be in the 20's

We don't celebrate valentines day either as evident by the fact that I was still filling out H's card this morning as he was waiting to leave. I also didn't get M a v-day outfit. In fact when I dropped him off at daycare I realzied he looks ready for St Patty's day rather then V-day.
With all the talk about Veronica Mars lately I have saved it to my watch list but I feel a little werid watching a show about a highschooler when I am over 40 years old. I am pretty sure I will be able to get over it.

Good to hear. I was also a winter bride (January 2010) in Chicago and never would've thought to do anything outside. And you're right - 20 degrees sounds like spring at this point! I just hope the snow we're supposed to get will hold out until we're done with pictures.
I'm on a dairy free diet due to DD's allergy so I'm bumming I'm not indulging in chocolate. DH has been enjoying his and got me sour patch kids so I at least got candy.

I've been having the best time feeding DD. She's been on purees for about 1.5 months, and I've gotten really lax about trying new things, since she hasn't shown any allergy issues. She ate pureed potato soup with onions yesterday and I couldn't shovel it in fast enough for her. I'm glad she appreciates my cooking! It's the little things
We moved to the country this year from the city and holyshit has it been a trial by fire. We've gotten about 2.5 feet in the last 24 hours, and our private driveway is 1/2 mile long. lolcry
My H texted me this morning that there's a Valentine's Day scavenger hunt waiting for me at home to find my gift. The only clue I have is that whatever surprise it is is larger than Charlie. I have no idea what on earth it could be but I'm excited. Also slightly nervous.
I don't want to see anyone's husband shirtless with his chest/stomach hair shaved into hearts. That should not be on Facebook. Edit: OK, never mind, it's a joke and not the person's actual husband. Still... that's something I can't un-see
I've given up on getting anything else productive done today. So I'm going through the "Humor" tab of Pinterest and stifling laughter at my desk. Also, I fully intend to leave early. Model employee, right here.
I have a plugged duct(/multiple plugged ducts?) on my left side and I'm pretty sure it has to be holding about 5 ounces based on the pain and sheer size/hardness. I've already talked to both the LC, who said to pump/nurse/apply heat/massage and put pressure/take Lecithin, and my doctor, who prescribed meds to stave off an infection which she's concerned it could become since it's a second plug in a few weeks. I keep ending up sleeping on my stomach, which isn't helping.
Dr. Google said that I might have to have DH help me by sucking it out himself, but I really, REALLY don't want to get to that point (and either does he).
to go along with the other "one year ago..." posts, a year ago Tuesday we found out that there was a wee penis growing in my belly. Tuesday is also AJ's 7 month birthday, so prepare for something equal parts comedic and sappy then.

I have never heard this "advice" for a plugged duct.

I found it on a few different message boards, so definitely not medical sources. I guess saying "Dr. Google" was slightly misleading there, sorry. We won't be doing that. DH would DIE if I asked him to, and I would be grossed out the entire time.
Also, I want a new sn but I feel like then I'll just start all over with no one recognizing me at all and working my way back in. I also don't really know what I would make it, but I'm tired of this one.

No exciting plans for us today. DH is currently having sinus surgery & I'm in the waiting room. We'll be here for a few hours & he's probably going to be uncomfortable & sleepy for the rest of the day.

I'm WFH today and using my lunch break to get a pedicure. I've been sitting in the chair for 15 minutes and no one has started my pedicure yet. I don't really care. Massage chair > working.

I'm a Sookie Stackhouse fan, so I say don't change!

I just pissed off the lady in line behind me at the bakery because I bought the last 8 chocolate covered strawberries. I considered giving her the two I bought for MIL (the others were for h's staff), but she started huffing and mumbled something under her breath. There weren't enough for me to have one and I want to steal one of the ones I got for MIL.
Have I mentioned enough about how mobile dd2 may be the end of my little world? She's found cabinets (of china!) that dd1 never noticed the full year that we've been here. Today she raided the dog food bowl. Eww.
My mom is swearing to me that I slept through the night the first night home from the hospital. That seems outrageous, but let's hope baby girl does the same
I haven't had a bad carb basically since1/1. I've lost a bunch of weight, but today it was like I just snapped and I've had chocolate, candy, a cookie, and I just had McDonald's for lunch. OMG hurts so good. lol
My dad does low carb and SWEARS by the "cheat day". I don't know how often he does it, but it hasn't impaired his weight loss or general health at all.

My daughter slept over five hours which felt pretty damn good!
Awesome. I believe you.
But my mom also says things like "I don't really remember the '80's. What a blur!" so this seems like myth.
