School's cancelled today but the roads are beautiful. So dh (teacher) decided to take DS to daycare anyway and he and I are spending a lovely day home alone Technically I'm working today, but given that the one project I have is teeny tiny and has no deadline, I'm probably not going to accomplish much. We might even get in a little afternoon somethin' somethin'
AJ woke up this morning in "MAHM. MAAAAAAHM. FEED ME NOW. DO NOT STOP TO CHANGE MY DIAPER, FEED ME NOWWWW MAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHM." mode so I did not take pictures of him in his valentine's robot jammies. That will be J's job before he goes to work.
We are doing jack shit for Valentine's Day today-I work 'til 530p and he works from 3p-2a. So I got a sleepy "Happy Valentine's Day" and a kiss before I left for work this morning, and that's okay.
My mom & sister were nice enough to rearrange their schedules for today so they can take N for the day. I really didn't want to ask my boss to WFH on this short notice, especially when my review is this afternoon.
DH is the worst present hider ever. He made my Valentine's present and left it uncovered in the fridge - Chocolate covered strawberries with coconut. I really wanted a new Alex & Ani bracelet, but I'd say he did a pretty good job! He told me he even went to the fancy market to get strawberries with stems & good quality chocolate.

This was our house too. DS woke everyone up at 6am with "DADDDA DAAADA! HUNGRY NOWW!" DH rolled over and sleeply said "happy valentines day" to which I replied "[[grumble]] it's still dark outside." Oops. Not very romantic.
BUT we are going out to a fancy dinner on Sunday (when my mom was available to babysit). So I'm really looking forward to that!
I have been chugging water all day yesterday and last night and the frequency of my contractions has drastically reduced. I have only had 1 this morning. I think I was dehydrated Wednesday and didn't drink enough water with all the craziness. I am feeling a little more confident that I can keep these babies cooking for a couple more weeks.
I realized I forgot to wash her Valentine's Day outfit. She exploded out of her diaper and onto the blankets mid feeding in disapproval forcing me to do laundry now. Sorry baby.
At least she's been a smiley NB after the feeding.
We don't really do anything major for V-day, but I did leave a card and box of Little Debbie cakes on the counter for H this morning. I am now wishing I had brought them to work so I could eat them.
In related news, I have been freaking ravenous this week and can't figure out why.

We don't do anything for Valentine's Day either, Stingyshark. Well, we're having meatloaf for dinner tonight and I think I might make it in the shape of a heart. Lol. But that's as much as we celebrate.
My random: DS is army crawling all over the place and he has figured out how to peel up the edge pieces of his play mat. I can't keep them out of his mouth and I'm paranoid that he's going to rip off a piece of the foam and choke on it.
The obnoxious sound of several cars on my street hitting the accelerator and spinning their wheels repeatedly is driving me crazy. News flash, people: you can't just drive your way out of big piles of snow around your car. You have to, you know, SHOVEL THAT SHIT before you put the key in the ignition.
My work decided to give us a 2 hour delay this morning for the potential of ice in the morning. Umm whut? I think they did it b/c they didn't release us early on Wednesday when it started snowing at like 2:30pm and the commute home was a nightmare.
But that meant I got to have breakfast with E and a leisurely morning.
Now I have a copule hours at work and then I'm off early to go volunteer at a local consignment sale.

My FIL is coming for a visit today, which means I need to go change my daughter's clothes. She is wearing a cute dress and he wears too much cologne. Whenever he leaves, her clothes smell icky, so I put on a "special outfit".
My husband is making steaks for dinner tonight. Yum yum.
I think that maybe just maybe, Nods has turned a corner and won't wake up so much at night. She has been sleeping really well the past few nights.
We don't celebrate Valentine's Day either. DD did have a cute Valentine's Day sleeper to wear to day care today though. We have been working on transitioning her to the crib at night instead of the RNP by our bed. Last night was successful night #2!
I'm on day 2 of no motivation at work. It's bad. I was doing SO well at the beginning of the week, and now... I want a nap.
And I want to ask a stupid MM question, but I'm afraid of the main MM board. Anyone want to tell me if there's any way to transfer IRA money to a spouse?
It's supposed to start snowing this afternoon, so I need to get out to pick up DS1's birthday cake before then. Today's his second birthday and we've had a great morning of presents and movies.
DS2 had a GREAT night of sleep, only two wake ups to eat and go back to sleep at 2 am and then 4:30, totally age appropriate and manageable. Back to pre-4 mo path wakeful status? Maybe? I can only hope!
We're doing a little CIO bootcamp for naps this morning and it's going well. Two checks at 5 and then 6 minutes and he's pretty settled now. I've had success with my other two starting with getting naps in line first and then working on night time.

DH and I don't do valentine's day either but I did get a cute shirt for dd to wear to dc. She got up after I left so hopefully she will still have it on later and I can snap a pic. Mil sent her this super cute pupppy from hallmark so she got a gift. I will get her something next year when she notices more haha.
I have a 4 day weekend starting tomorrow so I'm excited! It will be 85 today and I am wishing it were colder. I know I know.
ssmjlm Were you able to have your conversation with your H last night? Was thinking about you.
Yes, we talked. It went ok. He apologized.
Unfortunately it all started b/c I was showing him some other stuff the lady I have making E's 1st bday daycare shirt and she happens to live in the same town as MIL and DH is all "Oh, MIL could just pick it up for you." And I had to tell him no, E's 1st bday is our thing. I don't need MIL to "help" and just cause me more stress, which he agreed.

Snow day number two here. DH was home with us yesterday but we are on our own today. So far so good. I think we may go outside for a little bit before lunch.
I have no clue what we are doing for dinner. If the weather is okay I may send DH out for take out.

We're making fondue for V Day but not until Sunday night. Tonight DH is picking up In n Out on his way home, so romantic! I might pick up a Redbox too.
I want to take DS someplace fun this afternoon but I'm worried that schools have the day off so everything will be crowded. My poor extrovert son, stuck at home with a hermit introvert of a mom.
Morning sickness is already kicking my butt and I'm not even 6w yet! I had to change DS's morning diaper on the floor because I could barely stand up, and dragged a chair into the kitchen so I could make breakfast sitting down. Funny how much you forget the non glamorous parts of pregnancy.

I don't think we even acknowledged its valentines day this morning. We've never been big on the holiday.
DH left for work this morning and then is immediately leaving for a work training class OOT all weekend. I probably won't see him until late Monday night. Boo!
I'm taking the kids to my parents cabin this weekend to let them have some fun in the snow and for me to have the extra help. But my step dad is stick on the east coast somewhere with delayed flights. So I don't know when he's getting home or when we are leaving.
One year ago today, I POAS and found out I was pregnant with DS! It was such a crazy whirlwind of emotions because I got it 3 days after my due date from my pregnancy that ended in a missed miscarriage. I started the week so depressed, then happy, scared, etc. Now I have an adorable little munchkin at home! I still wonder about my first baby, but now I can't picture my life with any baby other than Sam. So weird.
No romantic V-Day plans over here. Normally, we make a low-key meal at home and maybe hit a nice restaurant on an off night to avoid the crowds. Today, DH is working a 24, so we'll see him tomorrow. I left a card from me & DS, but I'm not expecting much when I get back home. I think between DS being sick and then having snow yesterday, DH might have forgotten. I don't think I'm offended... I definitely phoned it in this year too. I would have normally gotten DH some candy or something small, but I just ran out of time.
I do not own a shovel. That was me today (granted it was 9:30, so not super early). I tried using a cookie sheet, MAJOR FAIL.
A few years ago I found a cute hiking hat that had been left behind on a trail (I left it there for a few hours to make sure nobody would claim it). It's my very favorite hiking hat now. DH was going through our hats the other night, looked at that hat and said , "Oh, hon, I didn't know Hannah Andersson made adult clothes."
