I'm sorry that she hasn't improved and that you have to be apart. I definitely don't think you're over reacting about questioning you pedi. I really hope you get some answers soon. Keep us updated.
New pedi ASAP. There's something wrong there. I hope you get some answers tonight, I cannot imagine the stress you are under, so lots of hair pats and hugs, sweetie. Vent away, post as often as you need.

UGH!!!!! SO FRUSTRATED. They sent them home. Her chest xray was the same and they said she was fine. They took her vitals when she was in triage and didn't monitor her at all the whole time she was there after the few minutes in triage. We were told to bring her in if her RR was over 60 and THIS er doctor said her respiratory rate didn't matter unless she was blue or couldn't eat. I'm seriously getting sooooooo tired of being told 2, 3, 4 different things. My pedi and the last ER dr said that her resp rate shouldn't be that high and this guy said it didn't matter at all. Her retractions had lessened so he basically said there's nothing we can do in the ER, and pulmonary's too busy to see her tonight. Yes, pulmonary was too busy, but they'd "talk to the scheduler and try and move her appt up sooner".
I'm so sorry Ruby and you are going through all this! I don't blame you at all for thinking about a new pedi. I hope they can move the pulmonary appointment up and you get some answers soon.
Oh no. This sounds so stressful. I can't imagine why a newborn wouldn't be considered high priority for pulmonary. Trust your instincts mama and get a new pedi. I am so sorry you are going through this. I really hope she feels better soon!

Oh, biblio, how stressful and rage inducing. It's terrifying because it's your child AND she's so little, but just awful you're not getting a clear cut response. I hope they can get her ini that specialist sooner and you get some concrete answers here. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Hugs, honey.

Oh my goodness poor little Ruby, I hope they take good care of her at the ER. And I would definitely consider changing pedis after this experience if you don't think the pedi was aggressive enough. Hope to get a good update sometime soon!
At this point, I would be making an appointment with a pediatric pulmonologist, preferably on referral but I would do it without one. I am so sorry, this sounds very scary and unsettling.

This. I hope you get answers soon.
She has one set for March the 3rd. We scheduled it last Friday, but that was the "first available" they had with our pedi's referral. They said without one it would have been even farther out. :/ All the stinking pedi had to do was call herself and get her seen urgently. Apparently the ER dr said they talked to the pulm scheduler and are trying to move her up. I have a feeling we won't hear from them...
Hugs! I would be annoyed with the pedi even just because she seems to change her reaction too often. Is there someone else at the same practice you can talk to or get an apt with? It sounds to me like two weeks is too long to wait, and what the heck does it matter to the pedi to mark it urgent?
Yeah, I thought about asking to see a different dr. I'll obviously do whatever it takes to get her in somewhere with the right person, but I HATE seeing a different dr. at the same practice. so awkward if we have to see her again.

When you call the pedi tomorrow tell them you're not going to stop calling until you speak to the dr and/or know they get you an appt this week. And then I really would keep calling like every 2 hours. Squeaky wheel gets the oil.
FFS, dude. I feel like it is neglectful of them to send her home. No monitoring too?? Fuck that.
I know you will do this but get on your pediatricians ASS tomorrow. You want, no, NEED a referral for this week. I am so sad for you and Ruby. You have enough on your plate and shouldn't have to beg people to be concerned. They just should be.
I'm do sorry you are dealing with this. It really sounds like the docs are dropping the ball. Good for you for standing up for your sweet girl . I hope you have answers soon!

I am so sorry. Hang in there.
Grrrrr, I know. It makes me livid. DH asked about the monitoring and the dr said "her vitals were perfect when she came in so it wasn't necessary". Uhhh, Her rr was 58 when she came in, that's NOT normal!! This first time she was at the ER her O2 was 100 and her RR was only 30-something and she was on the monitors for hours. They make me feel like I'm crazy, like I WANT her to be sick or something. I mean, I hope there's nothing wrong and this is just some bizarre newborn thing, but nobody's said that or tried to give us proof of that if that makes sense. First everyone says it's abnormal, but then it's like when it doesn't fit into their plans or diagnosis it's magically normal now.
