FFS, dude. I feel like it is neglectful of them to send her home. No monitoring too?? Fuck that.
I know you will do this but get on your pediatricians ASS tomorrow. You want, no, NEED a referral for this week. I am so sad for you and Ruby. You have enough on your plate and shouldn't have to beg people to be concerned. They just should be.
I am so sorry. Hang in there.
Grrrrr, I know. It makes me livid. DH asked about the monitoring and the dr said "her vitals were perfect when she came in so it wasn't necessary". Uhhh, Her rr was 58 when she came in, that's NOT normal!! This first time she was at the ER her O2 was 100 and her RR was only 30-something and she was on the monitors for hours. They make me feel like I'm crazy, like I WANT her to be sick or something. I mean, I hope there's nothing wrong and this is just some bizarre newborn thing, but nobody's said that or tried to give us proof of that if that makes sense. First everyone says it's abnormal, but then it's like when it doesn't fit into their plans or diagnosis it's magically normal now.
Have they done a blood draw? Butters was sick as a newborn and needed antibiotics. They only caught it because we donated his cord blood and they tested it first. Something (I don't remember what) was elevated.

That all sounds so frustrating! It's so hard because you know your child better than any doctor. I agree with the squeaky wheel therory. Trust your instinct and don't take no for an answer. Don't worry about it being awkward with your current pedi, people change doctors all the time, they are used to it and you have to do what's best for your family. You need to get in and see a pediatric pulmonologist.
