I drive a two-door sports car right now, so new baby = new car. I love driving my small car and am having a hard time finding something large enough for baby but not too huge. I keep trying to figure out how much room an infant seat really takes. What kind of vehicle do you have, do you recommend it with a baby in the back, or do you wish you had any different features?
I have an Acura TSX, which fits a car seat just fine and the trunk is big enough for a stroller.
I'm really dying for a Lexus CT hybrid though, so I'll probably get that before the baby and have my husband drive the TSX instead. He wants an SUV, but I'm not willing to fork over the cash for that kind of gas.
I have a 2013 Subaru Outback. It is big enough for our dog, a car seat and us. We love Subarus and live in a place where AWD is pretty necessary!
I wish we had an Outback. I love Subarus! We have a CRV and like it just fine. It definitely doesn't feel too huge (fits in parking spots fine), but still has a good amount of room and feels 'safe'.
We have a Volvo S60, and our infant seat fits okay in the middle of the back seat, but it means that H can't put his seat as far back as he would like it when he drives. He's kind of tall (6'1" ish?), and it's a pretty big car….we were kind of surprised.

I drive a 3 door Toyota Yaris hatchback (really only 2 doors but thats what they call it.) I had to move my DD from behind the passenger seat to behind my seat because I couldn't fit the infant base behind my seat. I love my little car so much we aren't planning on replacing it until it breaks down (its 7 yrs old and been paid off for a couple of years now.) It's annoying having to push up my seat to let DD in the back, but I've been doing it for over 5 yrs and don't mind it now. My husband has to buy a new car when he gets back from deployment because I crashed and totaled his Nissan Altima (which was the family car.) We're planning on looking and maybe purchasing the Nissan Rogue as our new family car. DH really wants an SUV this time and its one of the smallest and has good MPG.

I also had a 2 door sports care (350Z).. I drive a Mazda 6... it's alright. Honestly, we should have gotten a small SUV. Every time we get DD in & out and say something about the car. It's a decent car, but it just feels small with that giant car seat.
'12 Kia Sorento- it seats up to 7 (which I've used maybe once) and the trunk is huge! Only down side is it only has latch for the car seat on the 'window' seats in the back.
I have a 08 Pontiac grand prix- they don't make them anymore though. It's pretty large, love the leather with DD and her messes. It will fit two carseats fine. I would like a van with the next one because when we go on long trips I feel that it is tight.

We have a 2011 Subaru Outback and a 2013 Infiniti G37xS. We got the Outback a few years ago because we really like Subarus and we wanted something with AWD that we could haul our 2 labs around in. H used to drive a Subaru WRX STI which would have been fine with a kid, but we traded it in for the Infiniti last year so we could have 2 cars that both of us could drive (the STI was manual and I can't drive manual). We haven't tried a car seat in either car, but I'm not worried about it. It is going to be interesting the first time we have to travel with the kid and both dogs - already with both dogs we take a ton of shit - their beds, a crate, a bag with toys and food. Add kid stuff to that, it's gonna be cramped.

I have a Hyundai Sonata and we have been able to fit my neice and nephews seats in comfortably. Plus there is a ton of trunk space for strollers. I don't think it feels very big.
I have a Murano also and love it! I don't have a baby yet but the car seat is in and there is still plenty of room for two other people to sit in the back seat comfortably. It doesn't look too huge on the outside but it is so roomy on the inside. I don't see having any problems fitting all of the baby equipment in the back either.

Oh yeah, I've fit two other people in the back seat with our huge Britax Boulevard car seat. I've always felt like I have plenty of room.
I drive a 2000 Toyota Avalon. I'm trying to figure out if I can fit an infant seat, a convertible carseat and a booster in the back seat for baby #3. A new car isn't in the budget right now...

Everyone is so amazed once they get in it and sees how much room there is! I feel like it's a clown car!
I have a 5-door (hatchback) yaris and adore it. I too have no interest in a big car, but I opted for the 5-door vs 3-door since I knew it'd be easier to get a car seat into and out of. I know it'll be tight for a passenger if I can't fit a seat in the center of the back, but I really don't ever have passengers. DH has an Accord, and we take that if we are together.

We went really big and got a Navigator. I had a VW beetle that I loved but I wanted more room and to be higher up. I actually really wanted a minivan ( its my secret desire), but the Navigator was a compromise because it had 3rd row seats.
I'm still in the stage where I want to cry every time I fill up the Navigator compared to my Beetle but for the most part, its because the tank is 2x the size of the Beetle.
I have an older Toyota 4Runner. It's a beast, and even with how big it is I was surprised at how much space the carseat took up when we installed it.
My H has a Lexus IS, a sporty little thing. We haven't tried it, but I doubt the carseat would fit in it. We're just planning to take my car when we need to go somewhere with the baby. We often walk for errands/eating out/etc anyway.

We have a 2011 Subaru Forester and I love that freaking thing. I'm really short (5'0"), and it's not too big for me. I don't feel like I'm driving a huge SUV, but we still have plenty of room for car seats in the back and groceries too. It's super easy to drive, comfy, and I just love it.
