I need to come back here and review my latest purchases, my issues with UD eyeliner and primer, and show my many varied looks as of late. I'm embarrassed at the number of selfies on my phone. Lol
I know! Lol, if you go through my photos there are about 0 pics of me for most of them, then all my recent pics are littered with selfies. So embarrassing!
I think I have taken a minimum of five selfies a day for the last few weeks.
sometimes I make the dog sit on my lap while I'm doing them, and text them to my H.
Ok, so CYY ... Is it just my husbands love for deeper pinks and reds or is it not good. I am positive I look better in other colors, which is why I'm having a hard time judging if I can pull it off.
I think you can pull it off but I would experiment with cooler eye colors with it.
I knew it definitely wasn't ideal with the eyeshadow I had on. I'm like a five year old and am incapable of sticking with the plan when I have a bunch of makeup in front of me.
Damn, how do you get this quality stuff at your Costco? I can't remember if I have Pink Quartz or Rose, but I own this. I think this is really fun, although probably best suited for dry skin. I am moderately oily so I have to be careful. The good news is that it takes very little to get impact so it's a good investment.
One warning: if you haven't worked with highlighter before, be careful. It's easy to sweep it on, thinking nothing is happening, and then walk outside into the sunshine and blind everyone in a fifty mile radius when the sun hits your face. Go light.
ETA: that's a great price, about $9 below full price.
I don't like the ones by barely 20 year olds though.
I just watched a foundation tutorial by a young'un who had flawless skin in the first place.
I hate this. One of my favorite vloggers just did a advertisement tutorial using a new Chanel foundation that is supposed to be amazing. She used a kid with the world's most amazing skin. I was gratified to see the comments full of criticism about this.

*poof**
You could try MAC's pink pigeon. At the Nordstrom counter it was right next to CYY. It's a bit warmer than CYY I think. I'm a red head too but pixy is as well and it looks awesome on her so take it with a grain of salt.
This just happened: I was reading a tweet about how much someone loves salted caramel and I was thinking, that's one of my favorite colors in the Chocolate Bar palette, too! I then saw that the tweet included a recipe link and was not about makeup at all.
Very nice and not too dramatic at all! I tend to feel this way as well, but it never looks as dramatic a couple hours later, once I've gotten used to it from multiple passes by a mirror. :-)
going to a family friend's for Easter... and the thing I'm putting more thought into than anything else is my makeup.
also...
went on the library website and put holds on books by Kevin Aucoyn and Bobbi Brown. Because if I'm going to do this, I'm going to do it right.
honey, let me tell you-- you have been doing it right. You are new to makeup, yes? And you have posted SO many pictures in here looking fanTAStic! You are doing it all right.

Translations: ECB stands for extra care bucks (coupon for next time at CVS), RP stands for Red Plum coupon insert, SS stands for Smartsource coupon insert, and her favorite deal scenarios are in red, but NOT the ones you have to do in order to get the ECB. You need a CVS card to get deals there, and there is a red machine in the store where if you scan your card, it prints coupons for you, as well, including one thsi week apparently on 3$ off a 15 $ makeup purchase.

::blushes::
thanks...
The sephora lady I talked to the other day said I "obviously know what I'm doing' (because even though I was doing subtle eye and blush with bold lip, she said it was really well balanced)... that has upped my confidence in all this!
Alright well I have a face makeup question for pixy0stix and anyone else. I'm still in my late 20s and lucky and I have pretty good skin, so I don't need a lot of coverage. I normally just wear Aveeno tinted moisturizer with SPF layered over Neutrogena sunscreen and then my sheer MAC powder on top. I hate the feeling of heavy coverage foundation. Would I like one of the aforementioned BB creams? I've never really considered them because I don't think I need them exactly but maybe I would end up really liking them if they go on light.
Plus I will soon be spending the better part of my day wearing a surgical mask. In the past, it basically makes a lot of my makeup under the mask melt off so I felt like wearing anything heavier would just make that worse. But maybe something different would actually stay put better?

If your skin looks good, I would skip any sort of product beyond moisturizer all together on work days. Just do a light eye and call it good.

Have you tried a mineral powder foundation? They are light in feeling and coverage and won't melt off.

runaways - you might want to go get a bunch of samples and test out to see what works. Nars tinted moisturizer was amazing. It held up for me but who knows under your circumstances. I felt like it was more a bb cream than tinted moisturizer.

Dumb question - will Sephora give me samples to take home? I haven't shopped for much face makeup in ages.

They'll give you plenty of samples. Tell them what you're trying to find and they'll hook you up.
