OMG it seems to never end. We each do our own laundry and I typically do the household loads. There is only 2 of us and we do about 3-5 loads/wk between the two of us. Still, there is always something in a hamper somewhere so I feel like we are never on top of it.
Some weeks 5 and some weeks more. I feel like we do more in the summer with swim clothes and such.
Ha, I feel like we do less in the summer because we don't layer as much. No bulky sweatshirts, jeans, stuff like that. Shorts and sundresses take up less room!
The kids do more wardrobe changes as they spend more time outside and get messy/sweaty.
C still layers around the house. He is in sweats right now. Freak.
Sometimes we have 0 loads in my house. Then I might go 2-3 weeks without doing laundry and do 4 loads at once (of just my clothes). H is responsible for his laundry. We do sheets and towels when needed, but since its just the two of us and we have like 10 pairs of sheets for our bed and a million towels, that doesn't have to happen very often, either.

I try to do laundry before it really builds-up so I usually have a load running whenever possible- usually daily.
Between the two of us and 3 pets I would guess 6?
Bedding - 1x week (we have two sheet sets) Towels - 2x week ( they NEVER dry here and I hate smelly towels!) Clothes- 2-3 loads per week Doggie Stuff - once every other week depending how dirty they are
1 whites & 1 colors every week. 1 darks EOW during the summer, about every week to week and a half during the winter. 1 sheets/towels EOW during the winter, every week during the summer. Just DH and I. Only DH's work pants/suits get dry cleaned.
About 5-6 loads a week for me, DH and DS. We don't really dry clean anything unless DH needs his suit cleaned (usually for weddings and formal events, not often).

There are two adults and two children (a toddler and a baby). We dry clean nothing and do about 10 loads a week: whites, 3 loads (at least) of kids clothes/towels/bedding, 2 loads towels/sheets, and 4 loads of adult clothes.
DH is a blue collar worker and generates more laundry in the summer because he sweats through or gets filthy daily - so at least two complete outfits and often 2 showers a day. The toddler is also playing outside and getting really dirty or wet on a daily basis. The other day he went through three complete outfits.

4 people (2 adults, 7 year old and 4.5 year old):
I do 3-4 loads every 2 weeks or so. Things that dont look, smell or feel dirty are deemed not dirty and are worn again (with the exception of underwear of course). We do not use dry cleaning.
I've tried to imagine doing 8-10 loads per week and that would mean I wash every single thing we touch, every single time we touch it, and possibly even some things that were only looked at. And assuming that everything did need to be washed after every wear, at the end of each day, how many things are there to wash for a family of four? 4 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, 8 socks, 4 pairs of underwear? Why would that need to be done every day?
I"ve said this before in other posts, but I truly believe doing so much laundry just seems wasteful. It also probably wears out clothes faster. I guess that's judgy, but eh.
I am amazed that everyone has certain loads they do. When a hamper in the house looks like a load I toss it all in the washer. I don't sort other than to pull out clothes that need to be dry cleaned.
Whites (once every 10ish days) Darks (once every 10ish days) Towels/sheets (once a week) DD's clothes (once every 10-14 days) DD's diapers x3 per week (every other day)

We're the opposite, I will wait until the hamper is full before doing clothes.
It's just the two of us. We do about 4 a week including towels. My DH is an attorney so most of his clothes is dry cleaned, it is such a PIA and expensive!
I do 8-10 loads a week for me, H and DS-I think more than 1 load for each day of the week is excessive.
ETA-do you dry clean a lot of your clothes? We do not.
Pretty much exactly this. We rarely dry clean - usually only after business trips. We do at least 2 full loads of towels a week (normally 3 though with all the dish towels and microfiber cloths I go through), 3-4 loads of colors, 1 white, 1 gym clothes, 1 for DS, 1 with sheets and a blanket or two. We use four (each full size so DH & I each have two seperate) blankets and four or five blankets we use in our living room that we wash every few week bc we have three dogs that are lying all over them. And now add in at least two loads of pool towels every week. It never ends.
Four every week, a fifth every other. We also dry clean my suits and some other business clothes. Socks/underwear/t shirts/work out clothes. Delicates, mostly DH's dress shirts and my work clothes. Permanent press, mostly DH's pants. Towels. Bedding every other week.
My son and I live with my parents. Personally, for the two of us, I do about 8 loads. (Work clothes, two loads of work-out clothes, all other clothes, sheets, towels, my son's clothes, and my son's sheets.) I don't do any dry cleaning. My parents probably do the same amount for themselves. So about 15 loads for 4 people. Apparently we do a lot of laundry.
