Wow, some people do a lot of laundry! We average four loads per week right now: colors (incl. all H's and my clothes), towels, sheets/whites, and delicates. I know it will increase to six or seven once baby comes, as we'll be washing cloth diapers a few times weekly. For those of you whose H's clothes are washed separately from your own, is this a space issue (i.e., the washer capacity isn't great enough to handle both of your clothes) or something else? Our washer is huge, so I cannot imagine needing to wash my clothes separately from H's. I've had two weeks' worth of clothing in their with room to spare after returning from vacation--including six pairs of jeans. ETA: H's job is fully casual dress--he's in IT at a progressive company--and mine is business casual, so dry cleaning is rarely necessary; maybe twice yearly? Usually it's getting our wool coats dry cleaned before storage after winter.

Only two of us. DH takes the bulk of his work clothes to the cleaners (not all dry cleaned, but he likes his shirts starched and I'm not doing them and he doesn't have time). When I'm in the office, we've started sending my work shirts as well.
Usually in a week, we have one load of whites/lights and one smaller load of darks for clothes. DH refuses to reuse towels, so we have a load of towels. One load with sheets. And we wash our duvet cover ~every two weeks.
We have two sets of sheets we rotate between, but with four cats (three sleep on the bed a lot), we change them each week and we're good about washing them as we take them off the bed.

2 adults, 2 children
darks whites lights 2 loads of sheets/towels delicates then maybe another random load. We often have 2 loads of darks in the winter when we're wearing more clothes.

Some of you do a lot of laundry for just 2 people.
We do probably 4 loads/week:
--My clothes --DH's clothes (he does his own laundry--always have--just a habit) --The kids' clothes --Combo of 2nd load of kids' clothes, towels, and/or sheets
Some weeks, if I work out a lot, I might do a second load of my own clothes but not usually.

DH does his own laundry just out of habit. For years, he had all of his clothes in a separate bedroom so he's always had had his own hamper. We'll both dig through the other's hamper if we don't have enough to make a full load, but for the most part every man is for himself.
We only do it when we reach what I refer to as "Mission Critical" with my remaining underwear. H has probably 100 pairs of underwear so he can go for far longer than me. We have to pay for laundry but luckily the machines are big. I'm sure it averages out to one or two a week.
Wow, I thought I did a lot of laundry, but I'm feeling pretty normal. I do about 6-8 loads a week for a family of 4. We dry clean some of H's clothes, but not the bulk. There's no way the toddler and the baby can re wear any item given their eating and play habits.
we probably avg about 3 a week for 2 of us. usually it's a load of colors, a load of whites/lights, and a load of of either towels or sheets depending on the week.
DH does one load of his own laundry per week. I do DD's laundry (when she's out of clean pj's), mine (when i'm out of clean bras), and household stuff (towels, cleaning rags, etc., when I can do a full load).
I'd say my laundry and DD's is done once a month. Towels, less often.

2-3 loads per week. Towels and jeans in one, and delicates/tops/shirts in another. Linens are washed every 2-3 weeks on average. Most of my work clothes are dry cleaned.

its just me and H. We almost never dry clean. Six loads/week.
sheets towels whites (sometimes 2 loads per week) colors/darks jeans x2 during the winter - possibly a load of blankets/other bedding
I didn't read all replies but how are ppl combining sheet and towels? do I have an extremely small washer? Our king size bedding is a full load and I ofter think I should split my load of towels into 2.
Do those of you who do sheets every week only have one set?
We have two sets of regular sheets (and one set of flannel that we use in the winter). I could wash sheets EOW, but I'm paranoid that the cats will do something gross on set #2 while set #1 is dirty.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!

I guess I'm just dirty. I can go easily 2 weeks without doing a load when I'm by myself. If I only wear something a few hours in the evening, I'll wear it for 2 or 3 more evenings.
If H is here, he adds 2-3 loads a week. I did all the laundry before he went on a 5 day trip, and he had 3 loads for me when he unpacked. Insanity. How does 5 days = 3 loads?!
Someone asked why do them separately. I've been starting to wash his on hot. I prefer to wash mine on cold/delicate. I'll throw mine in with his to fill up a load, though. We have separate baskets, partly b/c I needed to prove how much more laundry he generates He didn't believe me.
