I did veto an apartment because it came with the *smallest* washer/dryer I had ever seen. They were tiny in this tiny closet, I guess that was all that fit when the renovated it. The apartment was beautiful, but that was a no go for me.

Sometimes I wonder if after a few people indicate a lot, people who do less laundry are embarrassed to admit it.
I didn't read the whole other thread, but I'm betting my mom's tenant is still the big winner. She does at least 5 loads of laundry every single DAY, for one person: sheets, bathroom towels, kitchen towels, lights, and darks. Maybe more that I'm not remembering. Her washer/dryer aren't small (unfortunately), she is just paranoid... on so many levels.
Our dark load: towels, workout clothes, jeans, and t-shirts requires 2 loads.
Our whites: socks, white t-shirts, light pants and shorts requires 2 loads. (sometimes just 1 if it's a light week).
Kids: thankfully their clothes are still small enough to fit in 1 load.
One delicate load: DH's work pants and shirts, my shirts requires 1 load.
That's 6 loads right there. Every other week we do sheets. 1 load for the blankets on the kids' beds. 1 or 2 more loads for the sheets, 1 queen set and two full sets.
My dream in life is to walk into a store and purchase a high capacity washer/dryer. I just can't justify the expense yet.
I do think the fact that people sort it makes for more laundry. I just do a load as I see enough to wash throughout the week. I cram that sucker.
Though I can also wash a set of sheets with a huge load of clothes so the whole sheet load is baffling to me.
heck, I washed other items with my down comforter at times.
I don't understand why people care enough to separate by color. As we're loading the machine we make an attempt to divide our roughly 2 loads on weekends by dark/kind of light. It's not a science, though.
Once in a blue moon... like once a year, I will do one load of white items, and double was them with bleach.
All of my husband's white undershirts turn dingy blue if he doesn't wash them separately. Same with our white towels.
We bought the cheapest set of front-loaders I could find. It's 3.3 cu, whatever that means. I cram it full, but it doesn't fit a lot of stuff.
I re-wear a lot of my clothes (work skirts & pants, jeans) without washing every time, but my H refuses to wear anything more than once. So each week = 6-7 pairs of jeans, which is one load. 12-14 shirts for both of us, and maybe a load of my work clothes every other week. Socks, underwear & towels are washed together, since our towels are all white. We use 6-7 towels per week.
We do 3-4 loads every Sunday.
My MIL does laundry everyday. She changes the sheets on her bed everyday. Dirty laundry drives her nuts.
I always change out of my work clothes when I get home so between that and pjs, I wear 3 outfits a day. DD has her regular clothes, pjs and her cheer stuff and DH usually has 2 outfits since he has to change after working outside. Add in sheets, a ton of towels and then beach towels from swimming or boating and it is a ton of laundry. And my washer & dryer are one of the largest capacities we could get.
i have a tiny european w/d combo and i still don't do 10 loads a week. this things holds 3 bath towels and few washcloths, tiny. i probably do 6-8 loads a week which amounts to 3 normal size loads.

We do save laundry there! I walk around in my underwear when I get home from work, til whenever I get around to putting on pajama pants. Usually when I need to let the dogs out, or something. haha.
I am one of the 10+ per weekers. This did not happen when we went from 2 adults to 2 and a baby. It was normal then, maybe 3-4 loads per week. But with 4 kids who are 9 yo and under, we do a ton. Right now, they swim every day and as I wrote in the last post, the towels are soaked and gross each and every time. I do at least a load of towels every other day. In the fall, there will be soccer for 3 of them plus DH and I workout regularly. Around that time we will probably start potty training DS, so it could get even worse! I am trying to work with the older two to stop putting every single thing in the dirty pile and also teaching them to use the washer/dryer. I am sure once they are doing the laundry, they will be more selective about what they put in.
