I don't have a flameful, but I do want to know what is happening in your siggy gif, toledo. It's just so... amazing? Weird? Hilarious? Amazaweirlarious?
I always volunteer to take DS1 to LAX practice because the place he goes has a bar in it. I sit up there with the other LAX mommies and we drink beer and its the best sports hour I have all week.
Ok, this is the definition I just read of cisgender:
You may have heard the word cisgender before, but you may not know what it means. Cisgender is a term used to describe people who, for the most part, identify as the gender they were assigned at birth. For example, if a doctor said “it’s a boy!” when you were born, and you identify as a man, then you could be described as cisgender. In other words, ‘cisgender’ is used to describe people who are not transgender.
So, it just seems to mean you're NOT transgender. Which is most people.
I don't have a confession, but I do want to know what the point of using the term "cisgendered" is.
There was some holier than though use of that word going on on my Facebook earlier this week. I need to manage my block list a little bit. People exhaust me.
It is the word most often used to describe being all genders or no gender in particular.
That's not how I understand it. I've read that it's when your mental/emotional gender aligns with your physical gender. I get that it's probably used to reduce the "otherness" of the term transgender.....but I find it odd to keep mentioning as part of one's identity.
That was not how it was explained to me. That being said, I think I've only mentioned it a few times.

Maybe do your own research then?
I feel like you probably just say it here to get attention.

Well Damn! I'm wrong. My Lgbt group always explained it as how I explained earlier.

Let's rachet things back down on the cisgendered thing. She misused a word which she had learned from a source she considered reliable. The meaning she intended is a notable characteristic for the "what are you known for?" thread. At least as distinctive as other characteristics mentioned.
