Help! Spitting up brown and can't be soothed. PIP (gross)

Oliver spit up a fair amount of brown spit up. Then just spit up more and it was still brown and had a red booger like thing in it. I can get him calm for a minute here and there but he wakes up frantic again. The blood is not from me. The last time he really ate was around 230 and it was pumped milk. My H has texted the pedi but no word yet.

I want to bring him to the hospital. I will if there is any more brown spit up. I can't get him to nurse at all. I've read online to not be too concerned but I am. He IS super gassy and I'm reading the blood could be from crying hard??

Update: thank you all for your help and thoughts. His temp was really low when we got there so they put a warmer on him and got his temperature back up. Blood work came back fine but they tested it and it is blood he spit up. They are starting him on prilosec in addition to his zantac and we go back next week. The pedi thinks the reflux is really acting up. He weighed 11.12lbs and 21"!!

I am sorry eav, I have no idea but I hope he is okay, is he sick at all, could it be from this throat from coughing it something?

He isn't that I can tell but Colin is congested and snotty so maybe?? Pedi is going to see us at 815. Fuck, I've been up all night.

I'm sorry he's not feeling well. I've never heard of brown spit up; definitely talk to the pediatrician asap.

I'm glad you're going in to the pedi. I just texted H the picture and he said not worried enough to go to the ER but get to the pediatrician as early as possible.

Could it be from his nose? When Em was sick with a cold the snot was going down her throat instead of out her nose and she would spit up boogers a lot. Poor guy. Glad you have an appointment. Let us know how it goes.

Glad you could get in right away! Hope he's alright, poor guy and you must be exhausted. I know I've heard of brown spit up before but I don't know what causes it.

Aw I just saw this. I hope he's feeling better. I hate reflux so much, Lily had it so bad. She had a few really bad days where she wouldn't stop screaming and many fussy feedings and weeks. Maybe since he's grown he's outgrown his dose and it wasn't keeping the acid at bay and it built up. It could have irritated something in his gut and caused it to bleed, poor guy. I hope you guys can get some rest and relief.
