What about the trapeze/ice cream idea?
Unforutnately I am proctoring the SAT on Saturday May 3 so unless its after 2 pm or so I am out. But that's cool if that works for everyone else. May 10 I have a work gala so I'll be working from 3 pm - midnight. May 17th I have "field day" so I have to work all morning and until about 2 pm.

The first weekend of May and Memorial Day weekend are out for me. At the moment the rest is kind of open. I'll probably sign up for another race at some point, but I'll try and sign up after we get GTG plans solidified. I'm open to anything as well.
May is pretty busy for me but I'll try to come if you pick a weekend I'm free! We're going to Puerto Rico the weekend of May 10 but will be in town otherwise. I'm so excited for a vacation!!!!
May seems like a difficult month for most people. LoveTrains, could you make a GTG on the evening of the 17th? That looks like a decent date for the majority of the group so far.
I'm out the 10th, 17th & 18th. Just an FYI, the weekend of May 17-18 is a pretty big commencement weekend for the area colleges (whether that impacts any of you I don't know, but just thought I'd share).

Hm...May is going to be a difficult month to coordinate.
Who is in favor of a help-Les-move GTG on June 1st? LOL.

I'm traumatized from moving so much in my 20s. I moved like seven times in six years, plus helped everyone in our group of friends every time they moved. Yeah, I'm done with the U-Haul thing, LOL.
LOL. I don't blame you. I despise moving. I was going to hire a moving company, but decided against it after getting a few quotes.
I will be able to move almost everything on my own in advance, but will just need help moving my larger furniture. I plan on making a few trips over the next several weeks to move the majority of the smaller items and leave the furniture for June 1st.
I hope to make this as painless as possible, especially so my friends who offered to help maintain their friendships with me afterward!
Hopefully Prague, Vienna, Munich, Berlin. But I have no plane tickets or anything booked yet :? Haven't had enough time to research and plan out our stops to know how many days we need. I actually don't really enjoy the planning part of vacations, but that's probably because I (feel like I) don't have enough time.
That sounds like a fabulous trip! My paternal grandmother and her family were from Vienna, so I have a particular interest in that city. I want to hear all about it when you return!
I can totally relate to not enjoying the planning aspect of vacations. It can feel overwhelming.

Yes I could do that. My parents will be in town for June 1 so I would have to bow out of the moving party.

Wonderful! Maybe we should plan for the night of May 17th, then, if everyone else is fine with that.
les - We just hired moving helpers through the U-Haul site. It was much cheaper than the moving company quotes that we got. You have to drive the truck, they just load, follow you to the new place, and unload. Just an FYI

Ooh, I didn't even know that was an option. Will they disassemble and reassemble furniture? I think I will look into it. Thanks!
ETA: I just booked moving helpers! It was not nearly as expensive as I expected and I think it will make the process much more bearable. Now I just need someone to help me drive the moving truck or my car down there and I will be set!
Is this fun or awful? I could see it going either way.
Prom is better than the school dance we do at the start of the school year. That one is just classless. At least at prom everyone is better behaved since it's all the seniors and they're all decked out. Honestly, the adults just stand around and chat. Although DH and I have been known to bust a move or two. ;-)
I'm awaiting details on several obligatory family events, so I'm not sure my May schedule yet. I hope to join if the chosen date works out with my as-yet-semi-known plans.
Or we could do brunch at my fave place (and you can all experience the famous cream of wheat a.k.a. "cream of crack" I've mentioned a bunch : www.theneighborhoodrestaurant.com/ No reservations, but in the warm weather they should have tons of outdoor seating so hopefully we wouldn't have to wait long (liveintheville, thoughts?).
Ooh...good ideas! I would be happy with any of those. countthestars, Lilac, and I met up at Kimball Farm last year. I wouldn't mind going again. Brunch also sounds awesome, especially with your rave reviews of the place!

If you go early enough or it's nice out it's not too bad waiting. But you'll have to wait for a least a little while.

Count me as a maybe, but more likely to go if it is at Kimball's so I can bring my 5 yo son (if that's cool). I just have some job things up in the air right now.
