ETA2: I also find it highly amusing that the one mom (Christine Young) is a mommy blogger who's basically called on her arsenal of other mommy bloggers to harass Jaide's twitter account. There are 70+ retweets all accusing Jaide of posting death threats etc and they're all from other mommy bloggers.
Nice. This is exactly how you deal with a 12 yo girl. Grown women harassing a child. Gotta love it.
So, I think their attorney is a little whackadoo. The blog claims that the attorney says they should use her real name, and in the comments of the FB page Christine mentions that the attorney said for them to start the FB page.

yeah... that twitter... that isn't linked to the girl's real life... with the obviously manufactured grammatical errors (consistently reversing you're and your)... It reads a whole lot like an adult trying to sound like a 12 yo on twitter. I'm just saying.
gawd save us from mommy bloggers and their followers.
and this is where I excuse myself from the board. Appreciate the support.
You expect us to support two fully grown women who think a 12 year old girl has hacked a cell phone network and individual account to steal their data plan(and are slandering her in the process)? SERIOUSLY?
So she's seriously upset that we aren't supporting her while she supports a friend who is off the damned rails?
Look, even if the cyber bullying situation was exactly as initially portrayed, the OP is not the victim so all of this hold my hand and pet my hair shit is well, bullshit.

I haven't read enough to have an opinion, but can we lure the moms here to talk to us?
But then once they get flamed they'll start accusing us of cyberstalking after their daughters tell them it must be those crazy internet ladies using up all their data instead. Or that we're the ones helping Jaide.

The only thing I'd like to help Jaide with is changing her name to Catherine or something else less strippery.
This made me think about the FB friend post where the friend's husband set up a dating profile and then claimed that someone broke in and used his computer to do it.
Disclaimer - I take everything back if these girls actually are getting cyberbullied/stalked.

They're still blissfully married in case you were wondering!! :-#

It will be Dr. Megan who spreads lies and misinformation all over again!
Soooo sunflower came here because she believes her friend, who believes all this is really happening. Because we are an internet board and we all like to have fun being a bit blunt, sometimes ridiculing stuff we find by people we don't know, we are acting the same way here with this issue.
But since it's Sunflower's friend, I think she might just be asking for a little less ridicule. And that would be the compassionate thing for us to do, really.
Sunflower, I hope you understand why so many find this story unbelievable. And maybe talk with your friend by asking the questions that were presented here because it really doesn't make sense.
And in the meantime, most people here are just surprised at how gullible your friend appears to be. But honestly, think about other situations - like wives whose husbands are cheating. It is sooooo much easier to see it from the outside looking simply at the facts, when your emotions and fears are not mixed up in it. I doubt there is a single person in this post who has never fallen for something because they got emotionally invested and/or tunnel vision.
So hang in there, but do seriously caution your friend to consider whether it is the daughters doing this, because then the actions of the parents are embarrassing at a minimum, and possibly reverse bullying of a minor.
I can't believe they actually think a 12-year-old (and presumably her "criminal") family are so focused on them that they would do this.
"Marti and I agreed to allow our girls to create new Instagram accounts, so they could continue cooresponding with their friends. They created user names that were no where near their old ones, but it was only a matter of hours before Jaide found them."
Really??
How long before one of the people helping their daughters admits it?

You know how they could keep in touch? Seeing them at school or picking up a phone to talk. I teach middle school and it has only made me resolve that my kids won't have social media for a very long time. Kids are assholes.

Yeah, I can just imagine those conversations. "Mom, I know we're all freaked out by this family of criminals that has targeted us and made death threats, and I know it seems like these masterminds have somehow broken into our devices and accounts and that nothing is safe, but Instagram is important!"
I actually emailed one of the mothers. She'll probably discount everything I wrote, but I had to, as it's too close to my sister's situation.
I mean, one of the girls' phone was logged into "Jaide's" instagram account. Instead of the possibility that the girl had logged in and forgotten to log out, suddenly her "phone was hacked and used to access the account." Whut?

OMG. This is beyond fuckingridiculous. It is like it has snowballed so fast they cannot fathom that it isn't true. I am so afraid it won't be figured out until it's too late for Jaide. I cannot imagine the harassment and judgment this girl and her family have had to endure. I hope they can get some legal help.

Good for you, pixy0stix. Sometimes the truth is really hard to hear and believe even when it's right in front of your face. I hope she takes your email to heart.

I'm hoping Jaides family is printing off all the posts and comments from that FB page.
