"You. You and your crazy life. You and your geographic anomaly. You and your drunken lesbianic ways and terrible navigational skills." - ProfArt and her holy baby
Are we going to have to move again? Because it has taken me forever to get my numbers up. I don't have the energy to do it again. I can't keep up with you guys!

NO, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! I just got my Elder status dammit!
You?! Look at me! I'm an introvert even on the internet!
Short description: 1. Poster links story on CEP about her blogger friend whose kids are being cyberbullied/stalked by a fellow student. Way out of control 2. Posters question validity of the claims because it's so out there 3. Mommy blogging community shares and posts it all over the place, accusing a 12-year-old; makes it on the news 4. "terrified" girls post a video--"we're super serious, guise, this is real, we're so scared" [giggle] "maybe they'll make a movie about is. But really, we're scared.] 5. More questioning of it 6. Radio silence from original poster 7. Weeks later, someone contacts pixy with questions about it and our involvement in it.
pixy0stix can probably answer any questions. She's the one who talked to the reporter. My understanding is that it's not about us much at all, and is mostly about the bullying and the skepticism surrounding it. I think the thread about the actual bullying might be mentioned w/ regards to how these stories spread to internet communities, and the internet communities reactions. I think that's the extent of the GBCN involvement though.
I was emailed by a reporter who writes for the Texas Observer magazine in Austin, who also writes freelance articles for mashable.com. He was working on an article for mashable about the bullying case (mentioned several times in this thread), and had found our monster thread on CEP about it.
I called him and we had a chat about the case, etc. He was interested in our community and our response to the story. It was supposed to come out a few weeks ago, but so far nothing. I emailed him on Monday and he said sometime this week... maybe. The part containing my interview was most likely cut, but GBCN would remain as an example of how the internet community reacted to the story. Given *everything* that he wanted to include in the article, I bet we get a sentence, if that.

My first thought about this was that it reminded me of the 90210 where Brenda is interviewed for a TV story and they totally twist her words around and everyone's feelings are hurt.

I thought that was the most amazing dress at the time. There should be a gif of Donna getting stuck in the limo with her huge skirt!
