1998, computer lab in university. He came in with his friend. I was in the same classes as his friend, so they stopped by to say hi. I thought "cute, but not my type".

We met over the phone when I was 14. We met in person later that year when I was 15. We had a mutual friend who introduced us. Our first date was at the local mall. We walked around with our mutual friend and grabbed mall food. He was wearing a Titans jersey and jeans. I was wearing gray slacks and a white shirt. 14 years later here we are.
We met the weekend we moved into the dorms my freshman year. Him and his roommates were really fun and always had their door open. One of my roommate and I were walking down the hall and they invited us in. We didn't start dating until March of that year.

My first words to DH were "wow, you're tall."
We met online and planned to meet for drinks at a bar about halfway between our houses- we lived about 30 minutes from each other at the time. He told me what his car looked like. So I was sitting outside the bar waiting for him to get there. He pulled up and got out and just towered over his green Acura (he's 6'5").
We had a couple drinks and hit it off, so then we went back to my place to watch a movie. And by "watch a movie" I really mean it. We didn't kiss until our 2nd date the following week.

A mutual friend from college invited us both to this douchy networking event when I lived in DC. He was supposedly just visiting and looking around for jobs, but he ended up sticking around.
Anyway, I remember he was wearing suspenders and one of the first things I noticed was that his eyebrow hairs are lighter than the rest of his hair, which is kind of weird.
It was the first day of freshmen year and i saw him in gym class. I told my BFF I was going to marry him. I didn't meet him until 10th grade, and we didn't date until we were 23.

I don't remember meeting DH. I was friends with his younger sister so he was just around sometimes.
The first time I remember interacting with him we were crashing at his apartment because he lived downtown. He offered me wine and I was impressed by his sophistication lol. I was 21 I think.

When he picked me up from my house on our first date. A blind date. I worked with his best friend who took months to convince me I should meet his friend. I was weary but ended up giving in. I was living at home after moving back post-college and my small town had ZERO prospects. At least I'd make a new friend if nothing happened romantically. We talked on the phone twice (one conversation was 3 hours) and went out a few days later. That date lasted 10 hours. I left for Italy the next day and thought about him the entire 2 weeks I was there. That was 10 years ago-July 31, 2004.
I went to a Phillies game with my then best friend. We were meeting up with a guy she was seeing and his friend (H). We met them and he was really sweet but very quiet. After the game we went to a bar connected to the stadium and talked a little more. After the bar we all decided to go back to H's condo to drink more and get food. We wound up sleeping over (I slept on the couch).
Two days later we planned on going out with them again. We went to H's condo first to meet other people and I remember seeing him and the way he said "hi" and smiled at me with his adorable dimple, I was smitten.
We met online. When I saw a photo of him I was like, Ohhh, he's super cute! He has a great smile, and it got me immediately. And the feelings were the same once we met in person. (I knew we would get married after our second date.)
Summer between junior and senior year of college. I had just started a summer job at a grocery store. I was working 2nd shift, he worked 3rd. I was getting ready to leave and I dropped my keys and they went under a shelf. I asked if he had anything I could use to get them out. His response was "Nope, they have to stay there forever." Then he stood there smiling at me like a moron before I said, "Look I really need those" so he moved the display unit and got them for me.
I thought he was an extreme weirdo and ignored him completely for the next couple months until I got drunk at a party a work friend was having and went home with him. The rest as they say, is history.

I had just broken up with my boyfriend that night. Spent some time in the ladies' room crying. Came back out and sll the girls I was with decided it was time to go to the bathroom. I had just been there so my friend said, "Just wait here with my brother."
I saw him walk into our general microbiology class sophomore year of college with his group of friends. I'd never noticed him before because they sat on the opposite side of the room, but I told the guy friend I was sitting with that I needed to meet that guy.
We all had organic chem together after that class, so guy friend led the way and we sat right in front of his group of friends. I turned around, introduced myself, and asked if he wanted to get together to study for our upcoming exam. He was like "oh, I already have a study group. so..." But I had already written my name and number on a piece of paper, so I gave it to him anyways and tried to save face.
Walking out, I heard his friend say "dude, I'm pretty sure she didn't want to study." And H was like "what? really? You think?"

I met H officially at a party at his house in college, because my roommate liked his roommate. I had a boyfriend at the time, but I remember thinking he was really cute. We spent a lot of time at their house that semester, and I eventually broke up with my bf (for different reasons) and we became FWB for a while before officially dating.
We later found out that we'd had physics lab together the year before, and his group sat next to my group, but we had never interacted, because his one group member was really obnoxious.

We actually met this week (on the 18th) nine years ago.
I met him at Speed Dating. I saw him walking over to the location because we'd both parked in the same garage. He was so cute and I was stoked when I saw him walking into the venue ahead of me.
He was my last "date" of the evening. I thought - wow, cute and funny and smart?? As I was leaving, I called my friend to tell her about him, when I heard him say from behind me, "I promise I'm not stalking you." I was all, "gotta go bye!" And hung up on my friend.
We walked back to the garage together, went on our first date 10 days later and the rest is history.
He told me later he waited in his car for ten minutes to leave because he wasn't ready for me to know he drove a 1993 Dodge Caravan. LOL. Little did he know I hate flashy cars and found old beater cars way sexier than sports cars.
I thought he was gorgeous and spent most of the semester making eye contact and smiling at him during class. We also pretty openly debated on a regular basis--it was a Social Theory class. I thought he was gorgeous and smart.
He had a girlfriend at the time, but early in the semester he went home and told his best friend and roommate "there is a girl in my class, and I swear to God, I am going to marry her"
We were in the same English and Math classes freshman year of high school. I just thought he was a nice guy. We didn't start dating until 8 years later.

Why is that guy wearing such hideous glasses?
That was my first thought. He was in the USMC, and a group of Marines came to my church. Thank you, Marines, for BCGs. Nowadays, they'd probably be considered chic.
eta: I first talked to him a few weeks later, and thought this was the kindest person I'll ever meet. It's true, he really is.
At the end of my sophomore year of college some friends roped me into volunteering at the registration table for a leadership conference they were helping host as part of an honor society we all belonged to. I came straight from work, rushed halfway across campus on a very hot day (so I'm sure my hair was frizzy and I was sweating), and as soon as I arrived they directed me to work a table with a guy I'd never met before. He was very cute, but VERY unfriendly, and I don't think he said more than two words to me the whole time I was there. I was pretty irritated by the end of the evening and didn't even say goodbye to him when I left.
Things went a lot differently when we re-met the following fall. He started eating lunch with us every day and asked me out on Halloween. That was nearly thirteen years ago.
"Damn he's hot." Only a few moments after we started talking I got this insane feeling of I'm going to marry this guy. He apparently got the same "sense" about me.
DH (jokingly) asked me to marry him about a month after we started dating. It became an inside joke and when he popped the question, he said "I'm asking for real this time."
He also told his dad he was going to marry me around the same time and his dad laughed at him.
I love it when I hear stories of other people with similar experiences. We felt like we were going too fast in the beginning, but it's worked out perfectly.
I noticed him in the bleachers at my baseball game and thought he was cute. We didn't meet until a couple weeks later when his roommate (who was on my team) set us up.
Well, we worked together, LOL. So the first time I saw him I thought he was really attractive, but I kind of dismissed him as off-limits. It was only after I left that I found an excuse to call him and ask him out.
I thought I would marry him on our first date. We had really great chemistry and we didn't talk about it, but we didn't see anyone else after that.
DH and I met years before we "officially" met in law school but didn't realize it until a few years after we had been dating and recalled the same story.
I was in line at a restaurant near my home town, ordering food, when I see this entourage of buses, cars, etc., pull into the parking lot, and a few minutes later, a number of folks, mostly men wearing suits and sunglasses enter the restaurant.
We were all curious as to who it was and news quickly spread that it was our then-Vice President Quayle on the campaign trial for the presidency (I know, I know, try to restrain the eyerolls LOL).
As I stand there, still waiting in line, I look up to see a handsome young man in his early twenties enter the room, sans sunglasses but with a pinstriped suit and a dark tan.
:swoons:
I was sporting crispy bangs and a mouthful of braces, not to mention some acid-washed jeans. I'm sure he was smitten.
Except when we realized we had both been there on the same day, same time, and crossed paths, he only remembered how good the hamburgers were at the restaurant.
We met at a party in 2002. I thought he was handsome but so were all of his friends - and they were wild/outgoing where H was more shy. I spent the first night flirting like crazy w one of his best friends. After we all hung out a few times H and I gravitated to each other. We became friends with benefits-----> on and off dating ----> serious and were married about 3.5 years after we met.
We met at a restaurant. My friend invited me out with her lab for drinks, and he was there. We sat across from each other, and he tried to buy me a drink. We became friends because he had fallen in with my friend group, but it took a month or 2 for me to be interested in him. I was still trying to get over the last guy I was with and wasn't in a good place.
I was part of this HS social group (so lame, lol) and H always DJ'd the dances. We were at this dive bar place that had a full wall of windows. I kept checking out his reflection while he was DJ'ing.
We didn't 'meet' and start dating until freshman year of college but that was the first time I saw him.
I was engaged to ex-h and he walked into the bar with my BFF's love interest. (I was the wing-woman I guess.) I thought he was way hot and just the right about of bad boy. He was merely eye candy at that point in my life. Little did I know I would end up marrying him.
I thought, "He's so tall" which he is compared to me!
I was walking back to my dorm from theatre rehearsal during tech week in college. I was exhausted from classes all day, then tech all evening, but I spotted my friend Heather standing on the patio smoking with this guy. He was smoking a cigarette, wearing a leather jacket, and had an earring (lol). But I stopped to talk to Heather, and she introduced us.
Come to find out later, Heather was interested in him, but never said anything to me. Oops!
