I met him at a New Years Day party at a friend of a friend's house. I was with a group of people riffing on some silly TV show when we were introduced. I barely remember it except that he was tall and sort of goofy looking. He claims I had sort of sneered and grunted in his direction when we were introduced. I had been separated from my ex for less than 3 months, I was not in the market for a new relationship. He liked me because I "wore glasses and looked smart" so he had me invited to the next 3 parties he hosted.
It took him 8 months to ask me on a date, probably because of my sparkling personality. I was not in a happy place during my separation even though I was glad to be getting rid of the ex. When he did call, I thought he was someone else when I first accepted. He asked me out because his friend wanted to take some other girl out and figured a double date was the way to go. Turns out the other girl was interested in DH and spent the night flirting shamelessly with him and dragging me to the ladies room to ask me all about DH. TBH, I knew nothing. We went to some cheesy dinner theater production of Fiddler and connected over the ridiculousness of the wedding guests dancing with bottles velcroed to their hats- poorly I might add. We caught each other mid-eye roll and the rest is history.
I love that moment. We'd met online and I was finally ready to arrange a date. He had wanted to meet up within a few days, but I was brand new to online dating and it took a couple weeks of convincing.
We met for a late lunch, but I had to work immediately after and the restaurant was near my hospital, so we both parked in the garage there rather than hunt for parking downtown. I had texted him which floor I parked on, and when I got out of the car, he was standing near the elevators with his back to me, looking out over downtown.
I kind of snuck up on him, lol. He finally heard me coming when I was right behind him, and turned around with a surprised look, which quickly turned into a giant smile. My heart was beating so hard! I wasn't sure if we would shake hands or make out. I was frozen. He pulled me into a big hug, which was perfect. He told me how beautiful I was and thanked me for "finally" meeting him.
I was too nervous to really remember because it was a job interview. I'm sure there was some surprise because I was expecting someone older, a supervisor, and DH looks really young even though he's 6years older than me.
I met him through work in 2002. I had a part-time job on the weekends and he was working there as a finance manager. I don't remember when I first laid eyes on him, but I do remember how much I liked his hair. lol

I saw him for the first time 10 years ago to this day! We were both working in Athens and a mutual friend introduced us. I did think he was very hot, but I was with someone so I wasn't having slutty thoughts or impulses right away.
We met at a pool hall. He was the quiet one and so I was talking to his really chatty/charming friend. DH ended up asking me for my number and I still thought he wanted my friend. lol
We both were hired to work at a new restaurant - I was waiting tables, he was a bar back and ran the steam bar - during training, we had name tags on. H left early and took the name tag off and another waiter picked it up and was wearing it around.
I saw H for the first time a few weeks later during a slow dinner shift. We sat in the back rolling silverware.

I went to a friend's birthday outing. We started at a pub drinking and then went to a ceilidh, which is a Scottish barn dance. She had invited my DH as well but we missed each other at the pub. I first saw him sitting, surrounded by beers and other women. I thought he was good looking in a unique way but probably taken. I was wrong.
We had mutual friends and met at a breakfast involving all parties. I was dating someone else at the time though, so future-DH didn't get a second glance at that time.
He walked into a house I was already in (for a meeting) right before senior year of college and almost everyone else knew him except me. He was wearing gym shorts & a polo and socks with sandals*. My BFF was teasing me about not having a BF. I thought now H was cute but funny looking.

It was Oct 2011 at a Halloween party thrown by 2 girls I didn't know. He was friends with one of the girls, I was friends with a friend of the other girl (my friend didn't want to go alone). I was drunk, he was ignoring me. Then another guy started flirting with me and he took notice. I found out he was in the Navy Reserves and was 7 yrs older than me so I figured this wasn't going anywhere (9/11 had just happened a month previous).
On the way out of the party he offered to walk us to the car. He gave me his phone number and when I asked if he wanted mine he said 'No', kissed me and walked off. 3 days later I called him. We had our first 'date' a few days later.
Possibly flameful: I also don't remember our first date. I do remember the date when we broke up (I'm glad we did- it was freshman year of high school, and we started dating again freshman year of college). I don't remember our first date in college, either.
I do remember getting the email where he asked me out the second time (lol yes, by email).
We worked at the same mini-putt place together in HS. He was working my first day on the job and showed me how to clean out the disgusting chili pot and where the vacuum cleaner was. So romantic.

1998, I was 16, he was 18. I got a summer job working full time at a large resort in the middle of nowhere (so most staff stay on-site). He had already worked there for a couple of summers before and his family had (has) a cabin down the road.
The first time I saw him, he was on the dock in his blue dock staff shirt. I didn't think anything of it. He wasn't my type, but we ended up becoming good friends. He had a huge crush on one of the other girls who worked there. She treated him like dirt and he was slowly starting to realize it, and I remember one day telling him that he needed to let go of her, she wasn't worth it, and he would definitely find someone much better. I didn't think that someone would be me! lol
We stayed in touch over the winter (we lived about 30 minutes away from each other) and 7 months later (Valentines Day 1999) we started officially dating. Married at the resort in August 2004 :-)

My friends took me out for dinner for my birthday. H was working as a waiter at the time, and we ended up chatting whenever he came to check on our table. My friend put my phone number on the bill. He called me the next day and we've been together ever since. It will be 10 years this Wednesday
I still have the work shirt he was wearing the night we met.

He and his roommate had recently moved to town, and showed up at my church's 20s ministry group one night. I saw him and his friend across the room and thought, "Two tall normal-looking guys? I'd better go talk to them before they realize what a bunch of awkward weirdos we all are and never come back!"
Of course somehow I ended up having an extended conversation with them about ketchup, so the awkward weirdo thing was right out in the open from the beginning. We started dating about a year and a half later.
I was 5 probably the FIRST first time, but I do not remember him AT ALL. We need to hunt down pics from 1st-3rd grades. We were never in the same class together, that we can recall, but we went to the same school/same grade from ages 5ish to 8ish
We met again, for sure, at my Jr Prom. He was the date of a friend/aquaintance and I said hi (this took us YEARRRRRRRS to realize we'd met there)
We met for the 3rd/fo'realsy'all time in late August 1999. It was the last Friday of summer break before we started college on the following Monday. I thought "DAMN he is tan" and invited him to a party my friends were throwing for the last weekend of 'freedom'.
It was in 20003. My friend invited BFF and I to his friends house, H was with his girlfriend and I thought his friend was cute. We all got along and BFF and I started hanging out with them all the time. Stuff happened and we lost touch. Fall 2008, I was taking some classes and saw him at the school bookstore, we exchanged numbers and were pretty much inseparable after that. Four months later we were engaged!
There was a party at a mutual friend's house. I was sick as a dog and spent most of the night napping in a chair. I was supposed to be driving friends home and didn't want to make them leave early.
He was the only person there I hadn't met at least once before. All I remember is thinking he was tall and scruffy.
We met again once 2 years later and started running into each other more frequently about a year after that.
I was drunk sitting next to him at a bar, so I don't really remember.
The funny thing is that he was apparently trying to figure out a way to start talking to me - I will talk to ANYONE if I had been drinking, so he could have said anything to me!
I was at a bar with my friend who had a company outing. she wanted to introduce me to some guy that she worked with. So she did and while I was talking with him I saw DH. I asked friend about him she said "Nah you don't want to date him he isn't marriage material" lol. He asked me to dance (to Dancing queen no less) and I was instantly smitten. He was in dress pants a collared shirt and his eyes.. oh his eyes. and his dimples and he was just perfection. Still is
It was 2001, I had been up at school for a couple weeks. My roommate and I were hanging out on the porch of this dumpy house in Chico. We were like, friends of friends of friends of one of the people who lived there....so that scored us some free beer.
I remember the house at the time was painted light blue and was nicknamed 'City Hall'. Tom Petty's 'Free Falling' was playing on a little radio and two guys walked up (slightly drunk) and one of them walked up the steps and came right over to me and belted out, "'Cuz I'm free! Free Falling!" We struck up a conversation about Tom Petty and I then found out that he was mutual friends with my cousin who also attended Chico State. We started out as bar buddies but it blossomed.
At our wedding we had Free Falling play as the last song of the night.
I was in charge of buying replacement computers for my entire office, so I went to a Dell store and met him, he's the owner. I thought he was adorable. After he got me a great deal, I asked him out, and we went to dinner and got in a gigantic argument over politics and I thought he was an asshole. But he kept txting me and I figured out that we agreed on most major issues and he wasn't so bad after all. Two weeks later we went out again and we've been together ever since. Almost 4 years now, and it seems to work. But we aren't married and don't live together, so that probably helps lol.

We were 15 years old and sat next to each other in algebra. I thought he was SO CUTE, lol. We didn't start dating until college, so apparently he didn't feel the same way for a few years, ha.
When we were 19 at a summer picnic. We met through a mutual friend and spent a long time talking at the picnic. I thought he was really good looking, but I was dating someone else at the time. We saw each other a few times over the summer at random parties and stuff. A couple months later (after I was no longer dating the other guy), we became FB friends and talked on AIM (anyone else use this? lol) a ton since we went to college in different states. It just kind of went from there.
