Congratulations! My kids are 29 months apart. My first PLed at 26 months, so it could happen for you before baby two! I also nursed through most of my pregnancy, DS weaned when I was 6 months pregnant. My supply really tanked, and it was really getting painful for me, so we ended it mutually.
Congrats! I got a BFP a couple weeks before my DS's first birthday. He weaned at 14 months at the end of my first tri (went from 4 nursing sessions to 0 over 2.5 months). It went very smoothly, although I think part of our success was changing routines - instead of him waking up and coming into our bed, we woke up and went straight downstairs for breakfast. And at night, DH did the bedtime routine instead of me.
I weaned DS1 when he was 17 mo and I was 4 mo pg with DS2. My supply tanked and it hurt like woah. I had to travel for work for 4 days, so we used that time to wean.
Also, did anyone wean once they got a BFP? She is still nursing once or twice a day and I have no interest in tandem nursing. I am hoping that maybe hormones will change the taste and she'll lose interest. Wistful thinking?
Congratulations!! It's possible that weaning will happen naturally over the next months. DD nursed twice a day when I got my BFP and shortly afterwards she dropped the morning session - she slept in a few times and then instead of taking her to our bed, we got her some breakfast right away, and she hasn't asked for it again. Now in the last couple of weeks, she's losing interest (and patience) with the bedtime session - I think my supply might be dropping fast now, because just last night she tried to nurse, pulled off, and said, "Not working!" She didn't feel like trying harder to get something from it, so she went to bed with no fuss. For a kid who has been a total boob-aholic I thought it might never happen, but it seems like we might finally be nearing the end.
