I haven't seen a weekend workouts thread, so let's get 'em started!
I had a monster weekend: Fri: 40 mile bike, 4 mi run Sat: 3500 yd swim, 50 mi bike, 3 mi run Sun: 15 mi bike, 12 mi run
For a grand total of 2 mi swim, 105 mi bike, 19 mi run in < 48 hours. Today is not only rest day, but massage day. YESSS. I feel pretty good about what I got done.
But now for bonus vent, because dammit I need a place to vent about this that ISN'T at home:
So Calvin's training for an October half marathon (his first). He's in the early weeks, so his long run this weekend was 4 miles. Sunday was long run day for both of us, and we woke up to early AM thunderstorms (the same ones that caused issues at IMLP). After they cleared, we decided to do our workouts one at a time so the dogs could stay loose in the house all day, and he would go first since his would take 40 mins while mine was 3 hrs and would keep him waiting forever. So fine, he goes and does his 4 mi run. He comes back around 11-something AM, and staggers in the front door, all AUGH. IT WAS AWFUL. TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE. THE WORST. Ad nauseum. Insert lots of theatrics about WHERE'S THE NUUN, etc., etc.
Dude. STFU. You were out there for 40 minutes and now you're done and back in air conditioning. I am already toast from the last 2 days, and I have 3 times as many miles to run, in hotter, fuller sun than you just ran in (since I let you have the cloudy post-storm period), preceded by an hour bike ride. DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO COMPLAIN THAT LOUDLY? Shut it down, yo. Isn't it common runner courtesy?
