Someone posted an iPod that matches the description of one of our iPods on one of the local FB yardsale groups. And he posted "lmfao dumb bitches" on his FB the night our cars were broken into. I know it's not much to go on, but it just seems to fit. H is not answering his GD phone right now, so I turn to you ladies.
Do I call the police?
UPDATE: I took screen shots to the police who immediately recognized the guy. They asked me to make a statement, which I gladly did, and are forwarding it on to detectives.
NEW QUESTION: There is new activity on the for sale post. The guy is meeting a buyer tomorrow (doesn't say where or when, probably talked over PM). Should I notify police of this change or assume they already know? It's a closed group, public can't see posts.

I'm not even going to lie, my stupid impulsive ass would have probably rolled onto his FB page and called him, his momma, his grandmomma, his aunties and his entire extended family every goddamn name I could think of and then threatened to show up at his house and beat his ass unless that iPod was back in my possession within 1 hour.
If only I had your balls.
I could probably find the dumb fuck at the park right now. All of his FB posts are whiny, "come hang out with me," "I wanna hang out, text me," "at the park, come hang," posts. Pathetic ass loser.

For your question, I don't think it hurts to call the cops. Do you have the contact number of the officer you spoke to? Chances are, they are monitoring this group, but you can always say it's a closed group, and you just wanted to be sure they were aware of it.
I'd probably be all "I'll pay you double!" Then meet the guy, fork over the cash, then yell into my wrist watch "We've got him, MOVE IN" and watch as the SWAT team takes him down. Oh wait. This is real life.
Yeah, send it to the police. If nothing else, they may be able to recover it from the guy he sells it to.

I would consider sending a PM the buyer and let them know they are about to buy stolen goods that are in the process of being recovered. However, they may think you are just trying to get them to pass so you can buy it or they may alert the seller about it.

I thought about it, but it looks like they work at the same place and might be buddies.

I would love to be privvy to that conversation if the cops are able to recover it after it is sold. Hey co-worker, thanks for selling me stolen goods - now I am out the $ and I don't have an iPod. Awkward.
