LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. Even Nic Cage is what the fucking this.
It's like the photographer was like, "Okay you guys - you are scared, things are on fire, there's panic in the streets - go!" And this ^^^^^^^^ is what was bestowed upon us.
I'd also like to note the perfectly white shirts of both Nic and Lady Smugface back there - yeah, um. Didn't the sky just explode? That's bound to produce some soot or something.

Part of me really wants to re-read these books to see if they were as bad as I remember them being. Another part of me thinks watching that trailer in and of itself was more than adequate.

Confession: I really liked the books when I read them in HS/College. I've been wanting a (good) movie made.. but it looks like Nick Cage is as close as I'm gonna get. Boo.
...the original made me worry anytime I couldn't find my Mom or Dad so I don't think this is a must watch for me....
One day, none of my friends from church were at school and I was so afraid that I had been left behind, I called my pastor's wife after school to make sure she was still around.
Thanks, youth group! lol
Omg I totally remember our youth group showing us a video about how it would be after the rapture and our leadership being like, "this is happening any day now FYI."

my contractor's text notification noise is this trumpeting noise that, in my own twisted brain, I have associated with the trumpets that will blow at the 2nd coming. I mentioned the first 'Left Behind' movie freaking me out and he said it did the same to him (we're pretty close in age). So apparently a lot of us have Youth Group/Sunday School to thank for our neurosis now...

A few months ago, when all that shit in Russia started happening, I was like.. "Uhh, didn't this happen in the Left Behind series?!" and I started mildly panicking. lol.
I love these books from an entertainment standpoint. I wish they could make a movie about it that was entertaining. Isn't there a tv show that is rapturish?
What a time for me to have just given away all of the books!
The thing that got me about the series is that it was pretty ridiculously violent, but all of the sex (even the sex that made babies and was a plot point of sin) was totally glossed over... unless they were talking about Buck the 30 year old jet setting virgin.
Seriously, in the movies, how bad is the sin for you to be left behind?
If I'm remembering the books correctly, the pilot, or Nic Cage, was having an affair with a flight attendant.
I think. There was an affair, right?
So, adultery at least.
No, he was just contemplating the affair and thinking how awesomesauce it would be. There was flirting and maybe some touching, but no actual P in V action.
The sin was not believing Jesus was your savior, and this apparently included all kids under a certain age, regardless of their knowledge/beliefs.
