Would you say any one of the p&p's are closer dupes than the others? Or put another way, if I were to buy that taupe bronzer and was going to throw one in to hold me over until after my wallet heals from the limited edition makeup holiday rager I'm going to be going on, which do you think is the best?
ijack, on the Bare Minerals palette - I saw it in the store, and it swatched really nicely. I think that's a good option. Also selfishly, I've been contemplating it because it's a great travel palette for work trip so someone here needs to buy it and tell me how they like it.

Celestial is supposed to be the dupe for the all over color. I'd get it to use as it's probably the most versatile. The other 2 are straight highlight/contour.
And in the topic of HG powders, I tried the dim light for my wedding earlier this year. And I wasn't really sure how to use it and I'm not sure my makeup looked much better as a result (I had professional Aveda MU done, then kinda dusted dim light all over) And I had a hard time swallowing the price so I returned it after since I didn't "get the point"
Is there a right way to be using these powders? Because Tiffany D mentioned it in a video that these aren't meant to be highlighters. But didn't really explain well what each powder is meant to do.
Make sense?
i probably wouldn't use it over a make over since I'm guessing they already had powder on you.
I mean, they really are just an all over powder. Powder helps set makeup and keep away shine.
But IME, dim light has a nice look to it. I love it. Yes the price is steep but it lasts for freaking ever.

I liked my powder better when I switched brushes. I had been using a dense all over brush and wasn't thrilled with the results. But then I tried it with the $3 elf complexion brush (basically a medium sized fluffy) and I got better results.
Tiffany D was all over the map with her review. But Dim is supposed to be the all over powder one.
I think I'll try the BM palette, the tarte colors look a little dark for me. Thanks!
I will say that BM has great palettes. There is something in their ready products that irritates my skin, but if it didn't, I'd be obsessed with BM for sure.
I find Tarte eyeshadows to be muddy...BM for sure is the better choice...very pigmented and awesome

I hope no one minds me jumping in, but with the Sephora VIB sale coming this week, what is the new "it" palette? There have been the UD Naked palettes and the TF Chocolate Bar (this is the one I have instead of the UD ones). What's next/current?

UD Vice 3 seems to be getting a lot of buzz now.
The majority of my palettes are TooFaced. I think I'm up to 7 or 8 of them. I love the colors and texture of them.
Does anyone have the It Naturally Pretty Celebration palette? I love my Naturally Pretty palette but have heard mixed things about Celebration. I bought it and immediately returned it, but I'm feeling wishy washy about the decision.

Welcome!!
Vice 3 also came to mind. It has the best colors. That said, the shadows aren't quite as blendable and seem to have a bit more fallout as compared to other popular palettes. I love it for the colors and don't regret the purchase but I wish the shadows were a bit easier to use.
Cherry Smoke is my fall favorite. A few other people here have it.
A lot of people like the MUFE artist palette.
Any of these would differ a lot from Chocolate Bar.

I love my IT palette, but I skipped the Celebration palette because it seemed identical? And didn't have great reviews.
Does anyone know offhand what ulta's return policy is? The concealer I bought a month ago makes me break out. Am I out of luck? I kept the receipt and packaging....

I just returned something used without a receipt.
My skin is FREAKING OUT and I don't know why. I think it's the make up. I have a derm appt next week (I met my deductible, so I'm seeing ALL the doctors before Jan 1). I wonder if Botox is covered by my insurance....
I bought Vice3, Too Faced Melted Berry, Nyx Raspberry Tart Butter Gloss, and Lorac Front of the Line liquid liner pen that hopefully won't spit in my eye like my blue one did because I actually love this liner otherwise.

You should be fine...you have 60 days. Store credit is issued if you don't have a receipt or after 60 days. I've only had an issue once, at one store, with one person.
I went to Ulta to use up my 20% coupon. I did go for what I needed, which was dry shampoo. However, I bought some other things but they are for Christmas gifts. I did really good. Hempz has a limited edition scent of vanilla peppermint. It smells reaallyy good so I picked one up for myself.
Oh and I decided I want the Too Face melted lipsticks. I tried some and I LOVE it. I restrained from buying them. I did tell DH what I want for Christmas. :-).
I went makeup shopping today! There was an NYX display in the CVS, yo!! I was so excited lol.
I decided I want to start wearing foundation. I like the BB cream but I want something a little smoother SO I went looking today expecting I would have to try and return a bunch of things. Except dude, I picked an awesome one, right color, right texture, etc on my first try. SQUEE! It's color 230.
It blends beautifully, goes on smooth, and looks lovely. It also didn't try to slide off my face in the middle of the dinner rush tonight. So I'm hooked.
And remember I asked about primer? I was going to pick up an NYX one next week but I came across this in Walmart and it had a similar look and texture to the Cover FX. And OMG, my face feels like silk, yo!
I also picked up this which works well enough. {img]https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRBptpfytKDggmQDOeZbxDatczDxWiccLiAzxbIsm83K0-tSV3T0g[/img]
And I hit up the Milani display where I bought the following:

I don't think I've mentioned yet, but the elf blush palettes in light and dark ($6) are well worth the money!
Pros: -Great bold colors (esp the dark; and the dark would seem to work great with darker skinned ladies! The pale can pull it off with a light hand) -Super extremely pigmented -Nice big mirror -Longevity comparable to my bare minerals blushes
Cons: -Swatched they all look different, but on my face they tend to take on slightly different versions of pinky hues (which is my trouble with almost all blushes because my cheeks are just so pink naturally) -A little powdery -Longevity compared to Tarte or HG? Hands down, those two have the best staying power.
All in all, I'm very pleased. If you want to expand your blush collection or just can't stomach spending $40+ on a palette, these are nice options.
(No selfies lately as my stupid phone is "storage full" all the fucking time even when I purge photos and aps.)
br]So I was doing some pre shower playing with eye shadow, hence the two different eyes. The darker one is from he boudoir palette that I bought recently, icky names be damned, and the other Cassiopeia with some matte purple in the crease.
Anyway, the main reason I am posting this is to give props to the ole sheer transformation moisturizer. I had used it when I bought that set that ESF posted and then ran out of that moisturizer for a while. I recently repurchases it full sized and can't believe what a difference that step alone has made. Here is my skin with no tinted moisturizer or foundation. I do have some blush and setting powder on though. I should have snapped a photo before. It is so much more even now! I kind of can't believe it.
m The link doesn't work for me. I really like the dr perricone one but there are no shade options and now it is a smidge dark for me, even after I blend it out.
