I don't ever want to live with a relative (not including a spouse or child) again.
I don't particularly want to go on a trip with my mom/sister again. Too disorganized.
If I ever get married again (I hope not), I would just want a simple ceremony and a restaurant meal afterward, not a big party. I also don't think I'd have a church ceremony unless my mom is still alive.
Let friends and family borrow our stuff. Never again.
We had a friend borrow our air mattress. It came back missing the cap to keep the air in. ^o) She never offered to replace it. Only gave me the story of, "oh many people had the same one and I wasn't sure which one was the one we borrowed. :^)
DH has let his friends borrow his stuff and it never comes back in the same condition.
Thanks for all the reassurance about two pups. They love playing together and cuddle, so I think it will be good!
Also agree with everyone on the puppy front. We have fostered a few, and they are exhausting.
Getting Kona (second dog) was the best thing we ever did for Hilo. I will say that the first 2 months, although she was adorable and loving (still is), she was an absolute monster. Potty training..., teaching her patience..., teaching her to be easy and gentle since she was going to be a big dog... OMG! I told H to take her back and that I changed my mind lol.
Then one day it just clicked with her and I love her to death now. It is so much easier and I feel so much better for Hilo since he now has a playmate and isn't laying around bored all day waiting for us to play with him. I just let them both go out back to play. Two is not much more work than one. Just one more mouth to feed.
And when she gets in trouble now, she smiles at me (shows all her teeth) making me laugh and forget about what she did wrong.
I do think it's amusing so many people have focused on marathoning. I love to run but it took me 11 years after my first marathon to decide to train for another (in 3 weeks). The training just takes up so much of my weekends for months!
Good one. Although I'm sure someday I will forget...
A lot of these bum me out - I love camping, skiing, scuba diving, roller coasters, even sometimes sharing hotel rooms and the like, even if they're uncomfortable. And I'm not really a risk taker!
I would be happy to never get another pet, but somehow I think I'm going to lose that battle eventually. Luckily, H is on the same page about cats at least. Also agree on the never move without movers again. If I'm really lucky I will never move again, period!
- Drink shitty wine - Get pushed around at work - Drive from DC to MI (its too far and DTW rules, Detroit haters!) - Fly Southwest or Spirit (RyanAir I have no problem with, oddly) - Do another massive DIY project (once basement is done)
I am surprised at the camping haters, too, but I will take the @mrschicken approach - more nature for me!

Rely on the 'provider directory' from my insurance and the 'billing specialists' at my various doctor's offices to determine if a provider/hospital is in network...
Got at $20k surprise bill because of some serious confusion on if my hospital was in or out of network... waiting on the first re billing from the insurance company. My OB is in network & preferred so they are re billing the hospital portions of the bills as 'preferred' but not in network to get them reduced hopefully. After I find out how much the insurance company will pay, I have to submit an appeal to the hospital so I can hopefully get a little more taken off. We'll see.
Spend $$$$ on sushi on the east coast. California sushi was soooo good. Now we do cheap sushi restaurants on the east coast.
Where on the East Coast are you?
Philly! I think the most expensive sushi I had here was at Steven Starr's Pod circa 2007/2008. It was nowhere near as good as the cheapest sushi we got in California.
Her middle name is Christine, so I guess not too common? I'm not sure. I don't know anyone else with that name, but that's not to say it's not common. It may seem unnecessary, but when we seriously hate the fact that she is named after such a vile person, it has to be done. My daughter is only (almost) 2, so I would rather get it done now before she's older.
Your kid, your life, your rules, but less than 2 years ago, you and your husband thought enough of your MIL to name your child after her and now you despise her enough to go through the process of a legal name change for a middle name? This sounds very impulsive, jmo.
Honestly, we should never have named her after MIL. We have had problems with her in the past, but we thought we had passed all that nonsense. Unfortunately we were wrong.
But you know that Pod isn't particularly good, right? I understand why it wasn't worth the money, but you may have just picked the wrong place to splurge.

But surely, there are some mistakes you've made often enough to know they shouldn't be repeated? Or some things so horrendous that you just know better? I'll be 40 in a couple years, so there is some shit that by now, I just know for sure. If there weren't, I think I'd be doing it wrong.
I won't fly Southwest either. I want an assigned seat. I also feel like they just herd their customers like a bunch of cattle, lol.
Its better than it used to be.....at least you get a Letter and Number, instead of just a letter and having to wait in line at the gate. I like choosing my own seat and not having to pay extra to pick my seat or an emergency row seat
One more. Never again will I work/own/help with a dairy farm. Too much damn work. Cows do not take vacations. Milking must happen every day at 5am and 5pm (or whatever your set times are). No exceptions. Getting other people to cover for you is close to impossible, they either don't know how, or have their own herd to take care of. Beef cattle are different, you can get a neighbor to check on them and throw out some food.
