DD is fully recovered and back to her chatty little self. So far the boys are appearing unscathed but I am not fully convinced. DD came down with the bug late Monday, really feeling sick starting Tuesday. Fever broke and puking stopped late Thursday. How long till we're out of the woods with the other two?
She went to Home Depot with DH earlier and she's currently "helping" him in our powder room and it's adorable. We spent half our trip planning out what projects were going to do to the house and DH has jumped right into our little bathroom renovation. This first floor half bath is the only place in our house with wallpaper and surprise, surprise, there's two layers of the crap with primer in between. I'd love to cover at least a wall with some of the fun wallpaper I'm seeing all over the place but there is no way I would ever convince DH that it's a good idea. He's literally more open to tiling a wall than wallpapering one.
How many words is a 13 month old supposed to have? I don't have enough to worry about, I need.to convince myself that A is behind verbally.
DD had two? Three? Maybe four including signs.
Now she has 50+ at 16mos. The difference is crazy!
Okay, that makes me feel better. She can sign eat, more, and please. She tries to repeat words if we ask her to, but they sound very similar to each other. I don't think dog, cat, bib, and cup should sound alike. lol
DS recently started doing very well with his solids. He had a pancake for breakfast, some turkey & cheese at lunch, and a banana & some pasta for dinner. I was so proud, but then he used those teeth for evil and bit me nursing tonight. Ow!
Tomorrow my friend is taking our Christmas photo at a local tree farm, but it's supposed to be in the low 50s & windy. I got DS a warm sweater but I hope he doesn't freeze.
C was alternately hilarious and a total PITA today. Someone tell me the "I DO IT" phase is normal? Because no, kid, you actually cannot make muffins by yourself.
Tomorrow I am going to BBB with @kcpokergal to play registry consultant. Yay!

She can say diaper...so there's that?
My pedi said they want mama, dada, and three other words by 18 months. So she's fine!
Poor M fell on his face and split his lip tonight not once but twice. The first time, he was in the living room by himself, so it is a mystery, although the fact that he thinks he is a mountain goat may have been a factor. The second time he tried to lean against my husband's leg, but my husband didn't realize and moved.
I played chauffeur for DH and FIL today when they went to 2 local breweries and MIL stayed at my house with the baby. Before we left, I put out 2 clean bibs and 2 burp cloths in case she needed them. We usually use 1, maybe 2, in a day and she already was wearing a clean one. We came back to FIVE dirty bibs and three dirty burp cloths. It was basically one bib per hour we were gone. I told DH he's doing the extra laundry and I'm buying a dozen more bibs for when his mom watches DD one day/week. Fucking ridiculous.
Today was a long day of single parenting. Actually, the dog was worse than the kid.
We have two birthday parties tomorrow and I have to frost a cake for one, and make cinnamon rolls for the brunch party. My goal for tomorrow is to not be running around like a chicken with my head cut off because I left everything until the last minute. So naturally, I'm on the couch watching Revenge and GBCNing

We are baby sitting DS best friend. Put them to bed in same room. They are jumping and singing songs. Hopefully the extra hour will work to my favor today
Dh and I tried to go to a beer tasting for our neighborhood with j. He's teething and was tired so I left almost immediately and Dh stayed at my request. Making lemonade... J went to sleep once j got home. So I drank beer at home, watched girly crap on TV, ate leftover Halloween candy, and Dh is is coming home later with an assortment if craft beers. Good night
glitzy07 Divergent is a better choice bc Four is hot. I read the books and Tobias/Four was the character I was the most into. That might be flameful?
E tried to say "love you" tonight. Omgah heart melted.
DH and I just caught up on how to get away with murder. WhyTF is Shonda writing Viola Davis' character as such a pussy woman? I do not get where she is going with this.
Uggh buncha that sounds horrible. It could also be borderline personality disorder. Manipulative behavior is a hallmark of it. I'm sorry the trip was so bad. Hope you can avoid her for a long time now.
(((bunch))). My mom is off the charts manipulative too and nothing hurts me worse than when it's spilled over to my kids. In fact, protecting them from ever feeling that directly is what's given me the strength to set and enforce boundaries. Therapy has been immensely helpful for me, I hope it's the same for you.
bunch, I'm sorry. My parents have the same problem but reversed. And now my Dad has gotten treatment (sort of) but he is just using it as an excuse to control things in a different way. It's infuriating. My mom is a big enabler. I should probably see a therapist also instead of venting about it on a message board, lol. I'm sorry you had such a shitty week.
Exciting Saturday night here. Watching football and just made my meal/snack plan for all week next week. I upped my protein big time and cut carbs to one third of my normal amount. Goal is to follow the plan exactly for the week to try to cut the sugar cravings and see how I feel at the end of the week. I can do anything for a week, right?
