We scored an invite to our friend's for Thanksgiving. I'm so glad I don't have to cook a full meal for two.
I am really, really looking forward to 4 days off. I am taking one to do a whole lot of nothing. H might be working his occasional job on Saturday, in which case I might spend the whole day in bed with Netflix and my laptop.
I'm leaving for Pittsburgh today to see my college BFF's. We're arriving and IMMEDIATLEY heading out for early happy hour to recreate our senior year Friday bar crawl. We're probably going to be the oldest people in some of these places. And Saturday is going to HURT. And then we're going out for a nice dinner at one of the newer places downtown on Saturday night. I'm so excited. This is gonna be FUN!!
Except the mainstay of my college bar life (stop 3 on the regular Friday crawl)closed in May and nobody told me. I'm so sad. It was such a hole. But it had dollar drinks and decent pizza (according to drunk wawa anyway) and many many memories.
Oh, and I'm supposed to run 7 miles on Saturday. Not sure how well that's going to work out for me. My running clothes are packed though.
BIL is staying at my house to watch the dog. I usually leave him a note about what's available to eat and some money and make sure he's got a towel and clean sheets and stuff...but I'm at work and MH is home and is coming to pick me up midday. He will do none of these things. Oh well. We're going to bring BIL back a pie at least from the place on 70/68.
I am so out of touch with movies right now. I have no idea what mocking jay is. I have my work Christmas party tonight and I don't know what I'm wearing. I still have 10lbs to lose before most of my stuff will fit right. On the bright side I'm down 35lbs.

both you and gpw need to attend pop culture school stat.
I think I'm going to wait until the 2nd part of Mockingjay is out before seeing the first one. I'd probably get too depressed just seeing half the story (much like HP).
Our hill didn't have any snow this morning, so I left the house in my work shoes. Got to daycare to roughly an inch on the ground. I finally broke down, ran over to Target, and got a pair of Fuggs. My feet were so happy walking from the car to the office this morning, why did I wait this long?
45 minutes until tickets for the Boston stop of the Garth Brooks tour go on sale. I already have my hotel room booked, all I have to do is snag two tickets. ::fingerscrossed::

We are going tomorrow night! Good luck. I'm more excited to see Trisha.
Lucky you! Enjoy the show! I've seen Trisha before, her voice is a treat. But Garth is really the last artist on my must-see list (at least at the moment). I was lucky enough to see George Strait on his farewell tour so that left just Garth to cross off my list.
I'm so geeky about this that I have my two coworkers and my mother also attempting to get tickets :-)

Dare I ask if you were able to get tickets?
It was a nail bitter! We had 8 browsers all going but I scored tickets! Out of the 8, only 2 ever made it through. And I got pretty good seats, too. Not the floor, but not the balcony. I'm so super happy. Garth's music transports me straight back to high school.
My office Christmas party is tonight so... Woot Woot for open bar!
DH and I are going to see Interstellar on Sunday after having previously seen Big Hero 6 last week. We'll have to hit up Mockingjay at some point in the next few weeks as well. This is a really solid year for movies.

I need to know what all of these places are to see of my memories from Duquesne match up.
We have Thanksgiving with the ILs tomorrow. Whee. At least I can drink.
work related - do people not look at outlook calendars when scheduling meetings? I mean honestly. I get this email saying "Hey, can we move this meeting?" "Sure, no problem. It looks like 3pm on Monday works for everyone." Except 3pm on Monday I am in another meeting and my calendar is CLEARLY blocked off. WTH?

YAY! Super jealous. I keep hoping he will announce something near me. Jealous of mryrcn too.

oh, I KNOW what Mockingjay is and I'm insanely jealousE of laurenpetro who went last night. I can't go until Sunday!
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
Today is going to draaaaaaag......although my boss isn't here, which is a plus. She's got an appointment at two and I'm hoping she rolls in right before that. Then I might try to leave early.
H is working T'giving. I want to farm out my mom, but at this late date it's unlikely. I'll still cook, but, then whole day to watch the parade, football, read and watch movies in my jammies sounds so fantastic.
ETA: Oh, and as predicted, I have not done my feminism homework. It's not even that hard. God, I hate school these days.

Mad Mex for happy hour big azz margaritas, hemmingways for dollar beers and spinach dip and then...PHI. But no more PHI.
In college the next step after that was to go play beer pong at our friend's house in squirrel hill till the sun came up. We'll instead be substituting our normal Saturday night activities and going to shady side. Docs used to be our favorite there, but that also closed. So probably William Penn. Or that one over on ellsworth with the bacon? My friends will want to go to Shady Grove but MH HATED that place and I wasn't a huge fan either so hopefully we can avoid that.
Hemmingways is the one where we will be BY FAR the oldest people there. I'm not sure how long we're going to want to stay, but I want to at least stop there for the nostalgia. Also I imagine beer is not a dollar anymore.
