Her sister had a picture of her DS at 10 months FFing and her comment was something about him being over 20 lbs. I struggled on whether to say anything and ultimately PMed her and just played up the legal aspect vs. the rec (in her state, it is illegal to FF before a year). She thanked me and said she didn't know and thought 20 lbs. automatically meant FF. I don't know if she flipped him or not, but I hope so.
My DS's pediatrician told us at his 9 month well child that we could forward face him once he hit 10 months, since he was 20 pounds. This was 5 years ago, back when the extended RFing recs were just coming out, but even then, I still side eyed it and wondered how many other patients he gave false information to.

We got the same recommendation from H's pedi around 11 months. This was 3.5 years ago. I went back and looked at the pictures on my facebook and I cringe at how early he was FF. I wish someone would have said something to me. It wasn't until I was pregnant with C and started researching car seats again that I heard about ERF.
